Happy Thursday, friends! Pop on over and I’ll share a before and after picture with you of our grandson’s bathroom makeover. Come see his painted bathroom cabinets!
Today I want to brag a little on my son, Chase. He and his beautiful wife have been in their new home in North Carolina for less than a year and have accomplished SO much in a short time. Chase has been busy painting nearly every cabinet in their house! First of all he painted their kitchen cabinets white. To see more of the kitchen makeover, see here: :Painted Kitchen Cabinets!
Next he painted the cabinets in their master bedroom. Click here for more details! How to Update a Bathroom with Paint!
The latest project is the hallway bathroom. It is a shared bath between their son and occasional guests, so they wanted it to function for both. Here’s where they started! (This photo is from the original listing of the house.) As you see, the cabinets are solid wood, with an oak finish. The cabinets are made by Merillat, which is a very good brand. The countertops, sinks and hardware were all in great shape and neutral, making it very easy to work with. They didn’t need to replace anything, simply update the oak cabinets.
So, one weekend, Chase grabbed some leftover paint from another project and painted all of the cabinets! Don’t they look great? He used a dark bluish gray paint he had on hand.
Once the cabinets were painted and dry, Chase added pretty gold vintage hardware. Previously there was no hardware at all, so he drilled new holes and attached the pulls. The “drawers” in front of the sinks are dummies, but he added hardware on these too to make it all look cohesive. So pretty!
Next up my son wants to add wood trim around the huge builder grade mirror like he did in their bathroom. He’ll paint it the same blue to match the cabinets. To see how Chase did the mirrors in their master bathroom see here: How To Add Trim to a Builder-Grade Mirror! It seems like there is always a project with a new house, right? Welcome to home ownership son!
Well, I have a few painting projects of my own so I’m off! I hope you have a wonderful day, friends! Let’s chat again soon! Much love, Dell
