TGIF, friends! If you follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram you know that I’ve been busy with a baby shower. (More on that later!) But today I wanted to pop in and share with you a great house warming gift idea! Come check it out!
Most of you have probably discovered Mrs. Meyers soap products by now. They have been around for years, and have the most amazing smelling soaps and cleaning products! They even make special scents for the different seasons, such as pumpkins spice in the fall and pine and spruce in the winter. And now they sell large refill containers for a few of their soaps. So now when you buy one of their soap dispensers, you can buy the coordinating refill and simply keep filling it up the dispenser when it’s empty.
Recently I made a gift basket for my Mom filled with various Mrs. Meyers products. But as I was making it, I thought that it would make the perfect house warming gift too! For Mom’s basket I used the Lemon Verbena scent. This must be one of their most popular scents because Mrs. Meyers makes refills for the hand soap and dish soap. And their counter cleaner refill is a concentrate, so it lasts forever! I bought the hand soap and refill, the dish soap and refill, the hand lotion, and room spray, all in Lemon Verbena. I threw in a pretty yellow candle too. I put it all in a pretty gold basket with a bit of shredded paper gift filler and added a gold bow. Done and done!
And here is a little cheat idea. Mrs. Meyers refills can be a little expensive or hard to find, so sometimes I just buy a generic brand of hand soap or dish soap in a lemon scent (Or lavender, etc.) and refill my dispensers with that. No one will ever know!
Wouldn’t this make such a nice house warming gift too? You could even add a little silver tray or wooden bowl to hold the soaps by the sink. Or a pretty hand towel, pot holders, or dish cloths? Perhaps a few nice bars of soap too? You could even put it all in a pretty reusable basket or box that can have multiple uses. The next time I need a house warming gift, this will be my go-to!
Check in next week when I’ll share a few fun decorating ideas for a shower, along with a few simple recipes. Meanwhile, I hope you have a marvelous weekend! xoxo~Dell
