Greetings, and happy Friday! The weather forecast for the weekend looks fantastic! And it’s a good thing because we have an outdoor brunch to attend tomorrow and my husband is golfing on Sunday. For the brunch I decided to make my favorite sausage ball recipe!
This recipe is an oldie, but goodie. I remember making these growing up. Not only are they quick and easy but always a crowd pleaser. And if you own a KitchenAide mixer then it’s a snap to make!
SAUSAGE BALL RECIPE:
1 pound Jimmy Dean Hot Pork Sausage
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I like to use sharp cheddar)
1/8 teaspoon pepper (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Allow the sausage and cheese to warm to room temperature for easier handling. Combine all ingredients into your mixer and blend well. *I use the hook attachment on my mixer and this helps blend the ingredients thoroughly. (Much easier and less messy than using your hands!) Form into 1 inch balls and place on a greased baking sheet or use parchment paper sheets. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Easy! I like to serve our sausage balls with a few different mustard sauces but we like them plain as well.
The cooked sausage balls freeze well too. I’ve even made the dough ahead of time and put the huge ball into a freezer bag. The day I”m ready to cook the sausage balls, I thaw the dough and make into balls and bake accordingly. The original recipe only calls for three simple and inexpensive ingredients:
Tomorrow morning I will whip these up in time for the brunch. (I may need to sample a few just to make sure they are tasty.) 😉 I hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday, my friends! xoxo Dell

Such a good and easy recipe, right? I made some at Christmas and froze them. We will have them this weekend at the Super Bowl Party! Have a great weekend! Dell
