Happy Tuesday, friends! I’ve been meaning to tell you about a store that we just discovered. I think it’s been around for a year or two but because of their limited hours and out of the way location, we just never stopped by. Until recently! Come check out this fabulous little wholesale store!
If you happen to be familiar with Denver, NC then you have probably heard of “Slanting Bridge Road”. Well, the locals call it “Slantin’ Bridge Road” because the road does indeed slant and it’s even more obvious when you are in the water going under the bridge. Anyway, this store is located in between old 16 Highway and Highway 150. Somewhere in the middle. It’s called Home Essentials Wholesale Warehouse. Here’s what it looks like because I couldn’t find an address.
The store is family owned and operated and the owner boasts that his 10 year old daughter runs the forklift. Just the nicest folks! And since I love supporting small businesses, this one really appeals to me! And talk about a variety of merchandize! They have everything from tools, to bathroom vanities, sinks, toilets, hardware, light fixtures, wallpaper, hardware, microwaves, grills, and home decor and accessories. Apparently they get most of their goods from Home Depot, so you know it’s name brand stuff! And everything is heavily discounted. If a box has been opened and taped back up, they will open it for you on the spot for inspection and make sure it’s what you want and it works.
I’ve been in a few times since we discovered it and found a few treasures. For instance, I found a double roll of wallpaper from Rifle Paper & Co. for $5. It retails for over $100 per double roll. I think if I order another roll I can do something really fun with it! (Stay tuned.)
I had my eye on this double topiary the last few times I was in but could never find a price tag. So today on my way to my Mother’s house, I popped back in and asked. Guess what? It was only $30!!!! (As you can see because it’s in my kitchen, I bought it!)
I’ve seen similar topiaries for close to $200 but found an identical one on Wayfair for $83. Out of curiosity I checked on Amazon and they had it for $64 plus free shipping! (Practically free in my book~not my husband’s~ but still a great deal!) So, I ordered it.
See how pretty they will look on my front porch? I need to raise it up a bit and wait for the other one to come, but I think I’m going to LOVE it! And they will last for years because I can’t kill them. Can’t you picture them with a pretty bow tied around the stem for spring?
So, this is my new idea of bargain shopping! Find one of something at a deep discount and try to find a match also on sale. Then I get double the bang for the buck! If you are in the area, please stop in and give this store a look-see. They are open Tuesday through Friday 9-5 and the last Saturday of each month. Happy Shopping! xoxo Dell
