It’s always exciting when we have a new baby in the family! There is something so sweet and precious about a new born baby. We are so fortunate to have just added a new baby boy to our clan, so a baby shower was a must!
Although we are all at the beach on vacation we wanted to have a baby shower for our newest addition. He has a big sister, so they needed lots of little boy things! And since our new little one is only a month old it is the first time some of us have met him. Needless to say, his little head has not touched a pillow since we’ve been here! We pass him around from one to the next. It may be a tough adjustment when they go home….
Last night after dinner we had a fun little baby shower for the new Mom and baby. We ordered cake squares from the store and cut them with dental floss to ensure nice even cuts. We decorated the top of each cake square with a small plastic sleeping baby boy ordered from Amazon. (They come in a pack of 60 babies, blue or pink.)
I made more of the baby food jar party favors. This time instead of the pink babies on top there are blue ones. I skipped the ribbon and the M&M’s this time and filled the jars with Hershey’s chocolate kisses. (You can see more of this DIY project featuring baby food jars on my blog). I like the symbolism of kisses and the blue lettering on the candy tags for baby boys. Trust me, this baby gets LOTS of kisses!
After dinner, cake, brownies and ice cream we watched the new Mommy open the gifts.
It’s so fun to see all of the newest clothes and baby gadgets available these days! He received lots of super soft blankets, toys and lots of onesies and clothes. Here are just a few of his goodies he got last night:
Some darling “tennis shoe” socks with a sweet bow “shoe lace”. It is VERY important to keep a baby’s feet covered at all times! (My rule.)
Some precious little onesies with Carolina Panther’s logo since most of my Carolina family are huge fans:
And I’ve never seen this type of sleeper before. It converts from a sweet pea gown to full pajamas. You just snap the bottom differently.
A sweet baby fork and spoon engraved with “I love you to the Moon”, from my favorite boutique, The Crystal Cottage:
And tons of super soft fuzzy blankets, bibs, pajamas, socks, shoes, teething rings, rattles, etc. It was a fun filled party with lots of love and laughter. We are completely in love with our newest baby boy. We truly love him to the Moon!
TIP: Use strips of dental floss to cut the cake squares instead of a knife. This allows for perfectly cut squares every time!
