Happy Tuesday, friends! Yesterday I shared with you my newly remodeled craft room in our basement. But then, last night I made a few changes and rearranged things a bit. Come check out my craft room update! (Since yesterday!)
I love the new shelves my husband and I installed in the new craft area in our basement. (To read all about the process see here: Craft Room Reveal! ) At first, I put all of the like-size boxes together on the shelves so that it looked uniform. Then, I realized it makes more sense to put the things I use most often on the lower shelves within easy reach. This is how the area looked before the changes.
After I labeled the contents of each box, I rearranged them on the shelves. This is how they now look. The boxes on the bottom shelf hold all of my chandelier goodies, stamps, and paints. And, I added some pretty crystals to my chandelier! Now it has that extra bit of sparkle I love. I’m confident it will help my creative juices as I’m working. And it adds nice task lighting to my work table. Double win.
I hung a curtain over the door opening to hide the clutter using a simple $3 tension rod. (I had the curtain panel on hand.) Now my craft area is ready for action! And more good news? Our radon test came back at 1.1%! Isn’t that fantastic? Now while I’m down in the basement working, I won’t feel like I’m slowly dying.
I love taking before and after pictures of my projects. They really show your progress! The storage room went from an ugly, creepy room to a bright and pretty work area. I couldn’t be happier! And I know where everything is, which is saying a lot after a major move.
On the bottom left is the before and on the right is the after photo. It’s a good things these shelves are nice and sturdy, right? They are holding a ton of weight.
Now that I’m finished with this project, I’m ready to tackle a new one! It will probably be the guest room and bathroom. They are in dire need of a new paint job and bit of updating. Meanwhile, thanks for stopping by! I love it when you like and share my blog with your friends and family on Facebook! And I love your comments and feedback, too! Stay warm and dry my friends! xo Dell
