Happy New Year, Friends! I still can’t believe it’s 2019! We have all of our Christmas decorations put away and now we are focused on the new year! So here’s to a new year and a new Anthropologie mirror! YAY!
We had the most wonderful Christmas this year! It was the first Christmas in our new house so it was fun to find new places for our Christmas trees and decorations. But, the best part was our children coming in for a visit! We cooked lots of great food, went to see some Christmas lights and attended the candle light service on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day we opened our presents. The only thing on my wish list was this mirror from Anthropologie. It’s called the Gleaming Primrose Mirror. It comes in 4 sizes and ranges from $448-$1,348. Expensive, I know, but isn’t it dreamy?
I’ve been eyeing this mirror for years and when we moved into this house, I knew it would be perfect in our powder room! The mirror we had before is very unique and pretty, but seems too large for this space. It also has a Moroccan feel that didn’t quite go with my vision for this room. (Not to worry, I have other plans for this beauty.)
So, when my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told him this mirror. Plus, it was 30% off which helped take a bit of the sting out of the price. We hung it on New Year’s Eve, just in time for our party! It fits the space much better and makes the room feel larger. (A vase full of fresh flowers is always a nice touch!)
The mirror has beautiful detailing at the top. (Gold leaf gets me every time.) This house has a definite French Country vibe so we are slowly working on each room to complete our vision.
The bottom of the mirror is pretty too. This mirror is the extra small version, yet measures a generous 39.25″ high by 39″ wide. It’s the perfect size for a bathroom or over a small dresser or mantle.
Another bonus is the mirror reflects my vintage crystal chandelier!
And that is always a good thing in my book! I love this chandelier. Ahhhh….
The powder room is coming together nicely. We replaced the original vanity with this one a few months ago. To read more about that see here: Vintage Dresser turned into Bathroom Vanity!
A quick before and after of the powder room.
Next up on my list for this room is new sconces. I found these on Facebook Marketplace. The pair was originally $25 but then the seller accidentally broke one and offered them to me for free! (Me being me, I paid her anyway.) The sconces are large scale and gold. Each one is approximately 19″ high. Pretty, right? I think they will look amazing with the new mirror.
Here is the sconce with the boo-boo. Happily the break happened in a very natural spot so I’m thinking I can have it soldered back together and no one will be the wiser. Anyone know a good welder?
So, having my family together for Christmas was definitely the highlight, but getting my mirror was a lovely surprise. Once I have the sconce repaired, I’ll have my electrician install the pair. The old sconces will be sold on FB Marketplace to offset the cost of repairing and installing the new ones. (Won’t my husband be impressed?)
I have lots of plans and new ideas for our home and lake house this year. In between painting and DIY projects, I’ll be trying lots of new recipes and ideas for entertaining, decorating, etc. Won’t you join me? Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by! xoxo Dell
