Happy Monday, sweet friends! As promised I’m sharing a few ideas for a patriotic 4th of July tablescape! Come check it out!
Our families like to get together for the 4th of July each year. This year my husband, Brad, and I are hosting at our lake place. In preparation, I bought a few fun little plates, and chargers from @hobbylobby to add to the festivities! The chargers are simple, lightweight silver with star cut outs. The plates come with either a blue truck or a red truck. I chose blue because it reminds me of my husband’s 1966 blue pick up truck we keep at the lake house. And as an added bonus, all of the patriotic decor was 40% off at Hobby Lobby! What a great deal and aren’t they so cute?
I decided to set the table on the terrace to see how the new plates looked before I do the real thing at the lake. I started with my favorite zebra print place mats, then added the chargers, plates, white cotton napkins and silverware. So simple and fun!
I love the simplicity of the table. The cloth napkins will probably be replaced with paper for the 4th for practical purposes. This week I’ll check back at HL and see if they still have the plates and chargers on sale and maybe I’ll buy a few more!
For the centerpiece I used hydrangeas from the garden in my favorite vintage ice bucket and added three American flags. The cute little firecracker decorations are also from Hobby Lobby. A few votive candles round out the decor.
The buntings on the terrace railing are from Plow and Hearth and are new this year. My old ones faded so I’m using those at the lake house. Honestly the faded ones go quite well with our vintage lake house theme anyway! LOL
The small plates are the perfect size for a sandwich and maybe some chips or pasta salad. BLT anyone?
The plates were originally $9.99 and the chargers were $3.99 but they were all on sale for 40% off, which made them much more affordable! I have some cute plastic plates, napkins and utensils that I’ll probably use as well. We plan to smoke a pork butt and grill some aioli chicken and the family will bring the sides and desserts. My family is the best! We’ll eat all day long and play in the water then watch the fireworks from the dock as the sun goes down. I CAN NOT wait! What are your plans?
