Happy last day of November friends! Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? I am finally jumping on the decorating bandwagon, so come check out my Christmas flannel sheets!
Now, I just put away my Thanksgiving and Fall decorations yesterday, but I couldn’t help but start decorating just a little for Christmas. After all, it’s just 24 days, 13 hours and 56 minutes away! But who’s counting, right? So I decided to start with the guest rooms in the basement. Our children were just here for Thanksgiving so I needed to change the sheets anyway. As luck would have it, I purchased these adorable and cozy flannel sheets last year from Bed, Bath and Beyond. They had been in the linen closet for a year so I washed them to freshen them up and put them on the king size bed. I used the existing white bedding since it matches so well.
The sheet are 100% cotton and so cozy! (The vintage truck with the tree in the back reminds me of my husband’s 1966 Ford pickup truck.) My Christmas pillows are still hiding somewhere in the attic so as soon as I dig those out, I”ll add a few to the bed, as well as a throw. But so far I’m loving the pops of color in the guest room!
And while I’m at it, why stop with the sheets? Over the bed is a favorite antique mirror I refinished a few years ago. I added a vintage-style wreath to it by using a command hook. The wreath is very light weight, so I’m sure it will hold just fine. I think it adds just the perfect touch of color and whimsy to the room for our son and his beautiful wife when they visit.
I have a few more Christmasy touches I want to add to the room before the kids come. Meanwhile, the room is off to a good start! And the beauty is, I have several weeks to work on the rooms and the rest of the house before the big day!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! xoxo Dell
