TGIF, sweet friends! It’s almost the weekend and I can’t wait! Today I want to share with you a pretty and crazy inexpensive thing I found at the consignment store recently. It’s a beautiful soup tureen! Come see!
I really do try not to buy things I don’t need, but sometimes something comes along that I simply can’t pass up! Case in point, this beautiful soup tureen! And I know, soup season is pretty much over with our 70 and 80 degree weather, but this set was only $28!! (For local folks it was found at Strawberry Fields)
So, at first I didn’t buy it even though it was amazing. I left the store. But I kept thinking about it and called the store later that day. I asked if it was A-still there and B-if it was really $28. It was YES on both, so clearly it was meant to be mine! And I bought it! Beautiful, right?
The set comes complete with a platter, bowl, lid and ladle, all in pristine condition. And get a load of that pretty pear handle! (All for $28. I still can’t believe it!)
To further convince myself this was a great deal, I did a little google search for large, white soup tureens. This one is from Pottery Barn. Brand new it’s $89 plus tax and shipping if you buy it online.
I found this one on eBay for $125 plus $34.43 shipping and handling. It includes the tray, tureen, ladle and lid like mine but for a combined total of $159.43. (over one hundred dollars more than mine. You’re welcome, husband.)
So the moral of this story is two-fold. First, when you see a great deal, snatch it up asap. (Or risk not-buyers remorse.) Second, thrifting is a great way to add style and beauty to your home on a budget! Win-win!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope y’all have a great weekend! xoxo Dell
