Happy Wednesday, friends! Are you ready for Christmas yet? I think we are finally. Just a few more gifts to wrap and we’ll call it a day. Until our kids get here, and then the fun really begins! Meanwhile, Facebook Marketplace keeps taunting me with sparkly things. And you know me and crystal chandeliers…
So, when I discovered Facebook Marketplace a few years ago, I was thrilled! What a great resource for buying and selling almost anything! My husband and I have sold quite a few things we no longer needed or wanted to get rid of prior to our move. And, I’ve found quite a few treasures for our new house! You can’t beat the ease and convenience. And the prices are great too, but you must act fast! (Sort of like eBay.)
I try not to torture myself by looking at the FBM too often. But once in a while I take a look just to see what’s out there, and if its something I can (or can’t) live without. Take for instance today. I took a peek this morning and found not one, but TWO petite crystal chandeliers for $25 each. Conveniently, they were in a neighboring town. I could not live without them. Not at that price. See? What else could I do? #karma
The white one is a bit larger but is missing a candle sleeve and a few crystals. Both are easy fixes. The lavender one is darling, but come to find out the crystals are not real. They are plastic. (Oh, dear.) Hence the price. However, with a little TLC these little beauties will be better than new! Aren’t they adorable, though?
These petite chandeliers will go in my treasure room until after the holidays. And perhaps warmer weather. The white one will get a fresh coat of paint and some new cardboard, drippy candle sleeves, which I love. And I’ll find a few replacement crystals.
The purple fixture will get a good cleaning and I’ll scrape off the “60 watt bulb warning.” (Do you really need one on every arm?) Then I’ll try to find real lavender crystals to replace the plastic ones. Won’t these make precious baby gifts for someone special one day? Anyway, finding these little gems made my day. The lady I bought them from said she almost threw them away, but decided to see if she could sell them, first. SO glad she did! Clearly this was a match made in Heaven.
Well, now I’m doing what I should have been doing this morning while out scouting for crystal chandeliers! I’m going to wrap some gifts and start dinner. We are having a new recipe by Paula Dean called “Chicken Cutlets with Rosemary-Dijon Gravy.” It calls for garlic-roasted potatoes, but we will do brown rice and quinoa instead. I’m dying to try something different for dinner! Don’t you get tired of making the same old thing week after week? I’ll let you know how it turns out. If it’s delicious, I’ll be sure to share!
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day! xoxo Dell
p.s. 5 days and 6 hours until Christmas!!!
