Happy Tuesday, friends! Some of you may have a rental property, or just want to designate a closet in your home that is off limits for safety purposes, such as storing harmful cleaning supplies, alcohol or maybe even fire arms. Come check out what we did with a cute little closet at our lake house!
This small closet is tucked away under the stairs in our lake house. We wanted a space where we could store personal items and cleaning supplies, and anything we don’t want small children to get hold of. My husband built a few shelves to the left of the opening and we filled it with some of these extra items.
Then, in order to designate the space as private, I ordered this sign from eBay.
It was just a few dollars and is attached to the door with peel and stick tape.
And then because I’m all about cuteness, I found this adorable little fish shaped lock at a consignment shop. My husband attached the locking mechanism in just a few minutes to the door and door frame with screws. Then we added the lock. It works with just the turn of a key. Cute, huh?
Now we have a place where we can safely store anything we wish at the lake house! It’s a cute idea to make a closet private for a rental property or a space in your own home that gently reminds guests that this particular place if off limits. (And little ones can’t get in!)
Well, that’s my tip for the day! We are still working on getting our fireplace mantle installed. It should be ready soon! I’ll keep you posted. Meanwhile, I hope you have a wonderful day! xoxo Dell
