Happy Tuesday, friends! I want to share with you this fun little toddler tower we bought for our grandson last week! His sweet Mommy and Daddy bought one for their house and told us how much he enjoys it. So we bought one too! Come check it out!
We are lucky enough to keep our precious grandson every Wednesday so we like to keep as many things for him at our house in order to make his stay more comfortable and fun. We have an extra crib, high chair, and lots of toys! And now we have a toddler tower! What is this you may ask? Well, it’s also called a “learning tower” Basically it’s a counter height Step stool with sides so that your little one can stand safely at the counter and watch and help you cook. This not only fosters interest in cooking and healthy nutrition, but helps keeps them entertained while you cook!
This is the one we chose. It’s by Mang Hood and called, the “Kitchen Standing Tower”. It was around $69 on Amazon with free shipping. Naturally it came in a small box with many, many pieces. Assembly required! The good news is, it came with all of the necessary tools and they recommend that you do NOT use power tools as it may result in the wood splitting. We chose a white wood finish but it’s also available in a natural wood finish too.
After unpacking the contents of the box, my husband made sure all of the pieces were accounted for. And then the assembly began!
In case you are wondering, wine helps with the assembly. Especially a good cabernet.
After about half an hour, the toddler tower is complete! I saved the extra screws along with the screwdriver and allen wrench it came with in case we need to tighten it up at a later date. I put them in a baggie and labeled it “toddler tower” and the date and put it with our tools.
The toddler or learning tower is about level with our countertops. I think it’s a pretty standard size. They range in price from about $40 up to hundreds of dollars. Because our grandson only uses it when he’s here, we didn’t want to spend a ton on it, but still wanted to make sure it’s sturdy and safe.
The recommended age for these stools is about 18 months to 6 years. Our grandson is only 16 months but he stands alone quite well. And as always, adult supervision is needed at ALL times. Never leave them unattended! Some stools are adjustable, but this one is not. So, if you want to spend a little more, you can get a fancier version, and one that adjusts as they get taller, etc. I think this one will last him for a few years or at least until he’s old enough to stand alone on a stool.
And here’s our little helper, Ford, now! I think he approves of his new stool. He likes to watch his Mommy and Daddy cook at home so we knew he’d like helping at our house as well. Ford especially likes to help his Pops make vanilla milkshakes!
Would anyone like some ice cream or a milk shake?
There are safety nets available for these toddler towers and can be purchased separately. I think that’s the next thing on our list, just to be cautious.
Well, we’ve been super busy around here with Father’s Day and the upcoming 4th of July celebration. I’ll be sharing a fun patriotic tablescape soon and some festive decorations so be sure to stay tuned! Have a great day sweet friends! xoxo Dell
