Happy Saturday, friends! Surprised to hear from me? On a weekend, no less! LOL. I’ve been super busy this week so I’ve been off of social media for a bit. But, I couldn’t wait to share a little secret! Come see the “things that plug holes in your closet!”
Do you have a built-in closet system in your house? In every closet maybe? If so, you NEED to know about these little things!
This is just one little space in one of our closets in the master bedroom. See those tiny holes? Well, that’s where you can adjust the shelves in the closet. Since we’ve been here for nearly four years now, we pretty much have the shelves where and how we want them. But these tiny little holes remain. Hundreds of them!
That’s where these things come in handy! They are tiny little plugs that neatly cover the extra holes in the closet! I ordered 6 bags from Ikea for about $2.99 each.
I have this cute little section in my closet. A few years ago I added the peel and stick leopard print wallpaper and a vintage mirror. But as you can see there are about 100 tiny ugly holes in my otherwise pretty space. And they were driving me crazy! (I know, I’m a little OCD.)
Yes, lots and lots of holes….
These plugs come in a package of 100 and in little strips of 10. You simply pull apart the plugs one at a time and push the plug into each hole. You can use a little tack hammer if you want, but they push in pretty easily with just your thumb. Now all of the holes are filled! Better, right?
I know it may not seem like a big deal, but I LOVE how it looks now! The holes practically disappear! And just for perspective, this tiny little space required 132 plugs. Luckily they are pretty cheap.
And a quick before and after! For whatever reason, this little change makes me so happy!
This one little space is finished in my closet but there are about a million more holes to plug between my closet and my husband’s. So, I’ll need to order a LOT more! On a side note, I’m not sure if these closet systems came from Ikea or not since they were here when we moved in. But we have had similar closet systems in other houses that my husband built, and I’m certain these plugs would fit those as well. (The holes are probably a pretty standard size.) If you decide to order some for yourself, the name on the bag of plugs is “Variera” and called cover plates by Ikea. The Article number is 002.263.15 and are $2.99 per bag of 100. And when I ordered mine they arrived in less than a week.
Well, that’s a wrap for this week! Thank you for stopping by and do pop back in next week and I’ll share with you our newly painted powder bath! Meanwhile, I hope you have a great weekend and until we meet again, may the good Lord take a liking to you, and me! (paraphrased from Roy Rogers.) xoxo Dell
