Happy Tuesday, friends! Today I want to share with you a sweet and fun gift idea for a Baby Shower! Come check it out!
Last Sunday, my husband and I were invited to a sweet gender reveal party at our friend’s son and daughter-in-law’s house. They said no gifts, but we didn’t want to arrive empty handed. So, I decided to buy a few of my grandson’s favorite books to give to the parents-to-be for their little one.
I chose the following books:
- “How Dinosaurs Say I Love You” by Jane Yolen & Mark Teague
- “Time for Bed” by Mem Fox
- “But Not the Hippopotamus” by Sandra Boynton
- “The Going to Bed Book” by Sandra Boynton
- “I’ll Love You Till The Cows Come Home” by Kathryn Cristaldi and Kristyna Litten
I wanted to put a sticker in the book so our future “niece” would know who gave them to her. And you know when you go to order something and don’t know the actual name of it? So frustrating! That’s what happened here. I google searched for book stickers, stickers for books and personalized stickers. Well, come to find out the stickers I was looking for are called Book Plates. (Now we know!) These say, “May Your Life Be Filled With Beautiful Stories” and a place for you to fill in who the gift is for and from whom. (I ordered these and some others on the same day and these didn’t arrive in time.)
These book plates arrived in time and are also very sweet. These say, “Wishing You Many Nights of Bedtime Stories and Sweet Dreams.” And then places to write the name of the child and who it is from. (These say, for the library of…)
This pack of ten was about $30 on Amazon. (The others were $21 for a pack of 20.)
Because my husband has a MUCH nicer handwriting than I do, I had him write on the book plates and I stuck one in each of the books. Some of the board books began on the second page or so and I was able to put the sticker in the front of the book over the dedication. (Who knows those people anyway, right?) One of the books started on the very first page so I put that sticker in the back of the book.
Now that I have a few extra book plates, I put them in my treasure room with my gift wrapping supplies. Next time I need a little gift for a gender reveal or a baby shower, I’ll have just the perfect thing! A book with a book plate! Now make sure you go and order some too and you’ll have the perfect baby gift too!
Well, I’m going to go start pulling something out for dinner tonight. I think we will make one of our new favorite salads. I’ll share the recipe with you soon! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! xoxo Dell
