Happy Thursday, friends! Remember the other day I teased about something I found at our new boutique in town? And I said it was bigger than a candle? Well, it is, and it’s a small artificial Christmas tree! Come check it out!
When I went shopping the other day, I was not in the market for a Christmas tree. At all. I was actually looking for a small hostess gift for a friend. But when I spied this sweet little tree, I couldn’t resist! It’s about five and a half feet tall, and nice and slender. At some point in its life it was a pre-lit tree because some of the lights are still attached to the tree. But the seller just wrapped two strands of white lights around it instead. Isn’t it pretty?
And I love the black urn. It’s made of a heavy plastic but looks and feels substantial.
The strings of lights were put on a little wonky, so I took the strands off of the tree and re-wrapped it so it was more uniform looking. For now it’s in a corner of the dining room and I quite like it here.
Last night it looked pretty magical. (Pay no attention to the pumpkins. I moved them today finally.) I thought about adding some decorations or ornaments, but so far I’m liking it as is. Nice and simple! So here’s my tip. If you can, try to buy artificial trees at consignment stores, thrift stores or online through Facebook Marketplace. They are much less expensive than new! Last year I bought one for $10 at a thrift store, and I love it!
We are hosting Thanksgiving this year for both sides of our families, so I”m holding off with my other Christmas decorations until after next week. I’m a one holiday at a time kind of gal. How about you? Have you decked your halls yet or are you waiting too?
I hope you have a fabulous day and let’s chat soon, shall we? xoxo Dell
