Happy Cyber Monday, friends! Are you scrambling around trying to find some good deals this weekend like me? Well, best of luck to you! Meanwhile, come check out our new Christmas tree! It’s a 9 foot Frazer Fir Artificial Tree!
Last week while I was pulling out our Christmas decorations from the attic and basement, I decided our vintage Christmas tree needed a little help. I wanted it to be taller so I asked my husband to build a box for it. Long story short, he thought the tree would still be too wide for our living room and suggested we buy a new one. Well, good thing we did, because we went out the day after Thanksgiving and they were nearly out of artificial trees at Lowe’s!
Let me back up. They were nearly out of AFFORDABLE trees. We wanted a tall and narrow tree for our living room and decided that a 9 foot tree was our best option. The 9 foot trees started at around $400 and went up from there. But the pickings were slim and they were nearly sold out of every tree that size. So, we ended up buying the floor model. It was the last one and didn’t come with a box or any instructions. Honestly, a box or instructions weren’t a big deal for us. (We knew the tree was in working condition because it was plugged in at the store.)
When we went to check out the nice cashier gave us an additional 10% off because it was a floor model. It still comes with a 3 year warranty so if the lights stop working, etc, we can return it. So, we kept the tag that came on the tree with the description and stapled the receipt to it. We will put it with our other warranties. So, here’s how it looked when we got it home.
A fun feature of the tree is that the lights have 8 functions and can go from warm white lights to multi-colored lights, which our grandson will love! With the click of the foot pedal, you can change the lights from constantly on, to a twinkling setting in white or colored lights. Yesterday I finished decorating the tree. All that’s left is tinsel and I”m having a hard time finding that too! Shucks!
And here is the tree last night with the colored lights. (Sorry about the poor quality but it looks much prettier in real life.)
And a quick side-by-side. I didn’t buy any new ornaments this year, but used tons of existing ornaments from year’s past. Another handy thing about the new Christmas trees is there are no plugs to fish out of the tree and hook together in order for each section of the tree to work. The center trunks of the new tree simply slides and snaps together, then you pop it into the stand. (This tree has three sections and the metal base.)
We are loving the new slimmed down tree and it fits our limited space in the living room much better than the previous trees. I’m sure we will enjoy this tree for years to come!
P.S. Today I went to buy some fresh greenery and wreaths and the fellow at the local produce stand said they can’t keep their wreaths in stock that folks were buying them as quickly as they make them. Also, their tree selection looked a little puny. I was taller than most of the trees they had in stock and the prices have definitely gone up since last year. So, get out early friends and buy what you need. Apparently they won’t be available for very long this year due to “supply chain issues”. What ever that means.
Well, thank you for stopping by! Soon I’ll share some of our other decorations with you! Hope you have a wonderful day! Let’s chat soon! xoxo Dell
