Thank goodness it’s Friday, Friends! I am so excited to share with you my new favorite products! Come see how to clean wine glasses the easy way. And with no spots or streaks!
My family loves wine. More often than not, we have a few glasses while we are cooking and with our dinner. Recently we bought some new wine glasses by Reidel. They are tall and beautiful, but I noticed after a few times using them, they started to have water stains on the inside of the glasses. I was using regular dish detergent to clean them and turning them upside down to dry on a special drying mat. It seems like this would work fine, but it didn’t! And when you have guests for dinner, the last thing you want is dirty-looking wine glasses.
Frustrated with my spotty wine glasses, I Googled “how to clean wine glasses” and it took me to Wine Enthusiast’s website. If you get their catalog in the mail, you know they sell all sorts of wine glasses and paraphernalia. Their products are great, but tend to be on the pricey side. They advertise a glass washing liquid called “Stem Shine”. In their catalog and online it retails for $39.95 plus shipping for a 16 ounce bottle. They claim it eliminates streaks and is a “state of the art cleaning agent”. Forty dollars seems high to me for dish liquid so I decided to check Amazon to see if they carry it. And they do! Amazon sells the exact same cleaner for $28.95 plus free shipping if you have Prime. So, I ordered a bottle to see how it works.
My conclusion? The Stem Shine works like a charm! This morning I washed the wine glasses from last night. I rinsed them out first, then added a few drops of the Stem Shine Washing Liquid. Using very warm water and a clean rag, I cleaned the inside and outside of the glasses and rinsed with warm/hot water. I turned them upside down to dry off a bit on a special silicone drying mat.
Once all of the glasses were washed, I dried them using a micro-fiber cloth meant for polishing wine glasses. I found these large, oversized cloths also on Amazon. They come in a package of 2 for $11.99, with free shipping. The micro-fiber cloths are streak-free, lint-free and are machine washable. I plan to keep one cloth here and the other at the lake house. Come check out the sparkling clean wine glass!
I highly recommend this glass washing liquid and the drying towels. Yes, the glass cleaner is still expensive at $28.95, but it only takes a few drops to clean each glass. And the drying towels can be washed over and over so no need to buy these very often. And the results are impressive! Don’t you love it when you find the right products to make your life just a little bit easier? I will most definitely order this stem cleaner again! If you would like to try it yourself, simply click on the above links, highlighted in green under “stem shine” or “micro-fiber towels.
Normally I don’t get excited about cleaning anything. I mean, who does? But, I am excited about how pretty and clean our wine glasses look now! Really, I need to take every wine glass out of the cabinet and clean them so they will be ready the next time we have company! I’ll work on that first thing tomorrow. Too bad this guy doesn’t do dishes…
Thanks for stopping by today! Next week I have some home staging ideas and a new recipe to share, so be sure to pop in and say hi! I hope you have a great day! xo Dell
