Everyone loves a comfortable bed right? I know we do! Nothing beats slipping into a cozy bed at night with soft sheets, a fuzzy blanket and a heavy comforter. So when we needed new sheets, I finally splurged and bought 100% Egyptian cotton sheets! Conclusion?
Last year we bought a new Temperpedic mattress set for our master bedroom. It came with a “free” set of sheets and a comforter. The free sheets lasted about 6 months before the fitted sheet fell apart and ripped. (Now we know why they were free.) I tossed the fitted sheet and kept the flat sheet for a drop cloth for future paint projects. The search was on for new sheets!
After Christmas Macy’s was having a fantastic sale online on linens. Their 1000 thread count cotton sheets were 60% off. Plus, I had a $50 gift card to Macy’s for filling out a survey for our Hardie Plank siding. So, the sheets with the sale and the gift cards turned out to be $84.59. (Over $200 savings!) That is still more than I like to pay for sheets. Typically I buy them at Homegoods where they have high thread count sheet sets for around $40 or so. But I’ve never found anything higher than a 500 thread count at Homegoods. Don’t you love it when you see this in the mail?
So, was the extra money worth it? YES. We absolutely love the new sheets! They are thicker and much more substantial than the other sheets. And they are really soft! I always buy white sheets since they go with everything and they are easy to keep clean with bleach. I’d love to have a second set but for now, I just wash them and put them right back on the bed. My Mother is partial to 100% linen sheets so perhaps I will try those next when they go on sale. (She got hers from Restoration Hardware.) I am not prone to ironing my sheets so forgive the wrinkles. 😉
I did find these adorable glittery sandals at Homegoods. They were on the clearance table for $22. Now if this snow would go away so I can wear them! I hope you have a great day! I’m going to go make a huge pot of soup and enjoy our snow bound day. Thanks for stopping by! xoxo Dell
