Happy Thursday, Friends! It’s been my birthday week so I’ve been on a bit of a vacation. However, when I saw a picture on Facebook of a truly unique and inspiring girl’s dorm room, I had to share! Come see a sophisticated girl’s dorm room. I know you’ll love it!
With school starting again we can’t help but be inundated with back to school commercials and Facebook posts of sad Moms sending their babies off to college. But for most college bound kids it’s a feeling of excitement, independence and a chance to spread their wings. I have two boys, so when they went off to college they could have cared less about how their dorm room looked. They were more concerned about having a comfortable bed, an allowance, and a dorm sized fridge. But girls are a different story! Come see the most sophisticated and creative girl’s dorm room I’ve ever seen!
This dorm room belongs to a very charming and delightful young lady named Hannah. She also happens to be the niece of our very good friends. So when Hannah started college last week and posted pictures of her adorable dorm room, I was anxious to share it! With Hannah’s permission, here is her grown up and lovely dorm room! Don’t you love the wall “mural” and the string lights? And what could be more cozy than piles of fuzzy and fluffy pillows and a faux fur throw? The pink comforter and map are perfect! What a perfect spot to curl up and study. (Or call her Mom).
And because of course, you can’t paint or wallpaper a dorm room, this fabric mural is the perfect solution! It adds visual interest and color and gives the whole room a young, hip vibe. I love the gold and white. Classic.
This is Hannah’s work space at the foot of her bed. It doubles as a desk and vanity. Notice the glamorous gold mirror with twinkling lights? I bet it looks fabulous at night, too!
The top of Hannah’s desk looks like marble but is actually contact paper from Walmart. Talk about a girl after my own heart!
I love this desk caddy, too. “Strong is the new Pretty”. What a great quote to begin each day. Girl Power!
And this is the beautiful Hannah in her very first dorm room! I feel sure this will be a great Freshman year. What a fun and grown-up room to come home to after classes every day. These four walls will hold lots of laughter, secrets, friendships, learning and growing over the next year. With the world at your feet, go get ’em Hannah!
My special thanks to Hannah B. for not only allowing me to share her amazing dorm room, but for her photography skills as well! All photo and design credit go to Hannah and her sweet Mom! Here’s wishing Hannah, and all college bound kids a safe and happy year. Godspeed.
Thank you to my friends who frequent my blog and offer sweet comments. I truly appreciate your support! I hope you have a wonderful day! xo Dell
