Welcome to Throw Back Thursday! With only two more Thursdays before Christmas, I thought I’d re-share this cute and easy DIY project. It’s a fun little snowman hot chocolate container with everything you need to make a yummy cup of hot cocoa; just add hot water!
This little snowman is made from things I had around the house. And you probably have something similar too! This is a fun craft for children and would make a fun and inexpensive gift to give to teachers and neighbors at the holidays. I started with two different size jars. The top jar is a small pimento jar and the bottom is a 4 oz. boullion cube jar. Naturally you can use any size jars for a similar look.
I cleaned out both jars and ran them through the dishwasher. Once clean and dry, I painted the lid of the boullion jar white. For the hat I glued a small wooden knob to the pimento jar lid using E6000 glue then painted them both black.
I glued the bottom of the smaller jar to the lid of the larger jar. (so you can open it of course! 😉 ) A piece of red ribbon tied around the neck for a scarf and a sprig of holly and berries on the hat compete the snowman. I painted the eyes and mouth with a small paint brush and cut the carrot nose out of cardboard and glued it into place.
Then simply fill the bottom jar with hot chocolate mix and the top jar with miniature marshmallows. If you like, you can include instructions to go along with the snowman. So easy! If you are looking for an easy craft for your children, they will love making this and sharing it with their teachers and friends. For Hanukkah, Christmas or just because! Who doesn’t love hot chocolate?
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a terrific day! xoxo Dell
