Happy Tuesday, sweet friends! My husband and I took a few days off at our lake house, and it was such a nice little get away! However, back to reality this week. Come on over to see how to make your own mailing labels using your computer!
This is a throw-back Thursday of sorts, except it’s Tuesday, and from a very long time ago. There is a blogger that I follow on Instagram and she does the most incredible hand-lettered calligraphy. My children bought me a beginner’s calligraphy guide and tools last year and I am determined to learn how. But, for now you know the saying, “fake it until you make it”? Well, this is it! Today I mailed a birthday gift to my beautiful daughter-in-law and made one of these labels for her package. (Obviously this is not her name and address, nor mine, but you get the picture!)
My handwriting is atrocious, so anytime I can print something on the computer I do. I like to type my return address and the addressee on a piece of computer paper. Also, I like to add a little stamp for fun. (as shown) My signature decorating piece is a chandelier, so why not have it as my signature stamp as well? I have a box full of stamps that I”ve collected over the years so depending on the occasion, I use a coordinating stamp. Plus, it adds a little flair to my packages! Isn’t this stamp the sweetest?
So, here is how to achieve this same look to create your own mailing labels!
1-Open Microsoft Word
2-Select “Format” from the tool bar at the top
3-Click “Choose Font”
4-Choose “Lucida Calligraphy” (or any other if you prefer)
5-Look for Font Style
6-Choose “Bold Italic”
7-Font Size-Choose 16 for this look.
Type your return address, then the addressee. Print. Add stamp. Fold and attach to your package! Wallah! And if you are sending a package to a child, you could add a stamp or a sticker with something they love or is personal to them. Well, I have a few more projects I’m working on this week. Later this week I’ll share a yummy twist on a brownie recipe and something I scored at a consignment store today! YAY! I think you’ll love both of them! Have a wonderful evening! Let’s chat soon? xoxo Dell
