TGIF, sweet friends! I hope you’ve had a nice week! Well, I’ve been promising an update on one of our guest rooms, and here it is! Come check out the new wood blinds from American Blinds and Wallpaper! @americanblinds #americanblinds
To refresh your memory, this room in the basement was previously occupied by my husband as his office. When we put new flooring in the entire basement, we figured it was a good time to switch things up a bit. So, we moved his office to the room next door and made this room a guest room. It made sense because it has an adjoining bathroom and the other room does not. For privacy, we installed these stock accordion style blinds right before our son came to visit for Thanksgiving. And I instantly hated them! But I thought maybe I could learn to live with them. Wrong.
I mean, the blinds were fine and they did provide privacy but I didn’t like the way they looked up or down. And the moulding in this room is so pretty, I felt like the windows deserved something a little more polished. When American Blinds advertised a half-off sale, I jumped on it! I’ve ordered blinds for every single house we’ve ever owned from this company and I’ve never been disappointed! It took just a few short weeks for the blinds to arrive.
Chores like installing blinds is one of my husband’s least favorite things to do. It took the prospect of company coming to spur him into action. So today he sweetly took down the old blinds and installed these! And I LOVE them!! They allow light to come in but we can easily adjust the level of privacy.. And they match the trim in the room beautifully!
Here’s a before and after of the same window. I think you’ll agree the wood blinds are SO much nicer!
The room still needs a lot of attention. I want to add some artwork and pillows, but I did play around with a few lamp choices. Tell me, which lamps do you prefer? The tall gold lamps with the beaded trim? Or the shorter black lamps with gold shades? I can’t decide!
Well, I’m going to sign off for the weekend! We are going to make a batch of homemade clam chowder for dinner and snuggle up by the fire and watch the snow! Yes, snow in North Carolina! Awesome! Have a great weekend friends and let’s chat again next week, shall we? Much love, Dell
