Happy Thursday, friends! We’ve been keeping our precious little grandson this week, so I’ve been happily busy. But I’ve been wanting to share with you my favorite sheets! Come check out my favorite Vera Wang Sheets!
For me, nice sheets are one thing I like to buy since we spend so much time in bed. (Doesn’t everyone?) So why not have the most comfortable sheets, pillows and bedding you can find? However, nice sheets can be really expensive. That’s why the penny pinching side of me likes to buy them the smart way. On sale! Here are a few tips!
After many years of trial and error, I found that we prefer Egyptian Cotton sheets. I love the Simply Vera collection by Vera Wang, available at Kohl’s. Her sheets come in a variety of thread counts, but the ones I’ve bought over and over are the 800 thread count sheets. Recently we needed new sheets for our master bedroom at home and at the lake house. So, here’s how I bought them affordably…
I have a Kohl’s charge card therefore I get offers and sales often in the mail. When I want to make a purchase for expensive things such as bedding, I wait until I get a 30% off coupon. Recently I got such a coupon. Normally king size Vera Wang 800 thread count sheets are $199.99, which is pretty steep. As luck would have it, the sheets were on sale for $159.99 then I had my 30% off coupon and that brought them down to $111.99. I also had some “Kohl’s cash” for $30 which brought the sheets down to $81.99. Not too bad for sheets that will last for years! (The label on the package will tell you if they are Egyptian cotton and the thread count.)
Since I needed two sets of sheets, I waited until I got another 30% off coupon in the mail and did the same thing a few weeks later. The good news is I had more “Kohl’s cash” to spend from the previous purchase. I was able to buy two sets of king size sheets for the price of one! Now I know my husband wouldn’t typically think of me as thrifty, but I’m pretty pleased with myself.
Vera Wang sheets have several things that I LOVE. First of all, they are heavy and substantial. They have a sateen weave for extra softness and have deep pockets for a secure fit. But this is my favorite feature! The fitted sheet is labeled on all four sides with either “side” or “top or bottom”. And if you are like me, this is extremely helpful and such a time saver when making the bed.
One thing I noticed is the 800 thread count sheets are much thicker and softer than the 600 thread count but they also wrinkle a lot more, which is okay. I”m not one to iron my sheets so if the wrinkles bother you then you might consider a lower thread count. I did buy some 450 thread count sheets by Sonoma, a Kohl’s brand, and found they are very nice too and less expensive than Vera Wang. For example, I bought a queen size sheet set which was originally $109.99 on sale for $69.99 then with the 30% off it was only $48.99. I bought some of these for the lake house and they are really soft! And they don’t wrinkle as much as my Vera sheets. Honestly I would recommend both brands!
Well, it’s the official kick-off to the 2022 golf season tonight so I have a dinner with the neighborhood ladies. That means no cooking for me. Yippee! I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by! xoxo Dell

Hello Dell,
Where did the lovely bedding come from in the photo?
Thank you
Hi, Dale! The bedding is from BarIII and I bought it online about 5 years ago. I don’t know if they still sell this duvet cover, but it’s been a great one! The bedskirt came from Soft Surroundings. Hope that helps! Hope you have a great day! xo Dell
