I don’t know about you, but I love garlic!! My family and I put it on just about everything… Garlic is a fantastic compliment in just about any sauce, pairs wonderfully with most meats, and takes any normal veggie-dish to another level in regards to flavor!
There are several ways to cook garlic – as long as you don’t burn it badly, then it should taste great just about any way you make it…
I don’t see very many people cook it the way we do however, so I thought this might be a fun helpful tip on how to make some of the best, most flavorful garlic that I have ever tasted!
Step 1: Take an entire clove of garlic and brush/pull away the loose shell (you really just want one layer of shell left so the garlic gets cooked nicely).
Step 2: Take a sharp knife and cut all the way through the garlic cloves (measure about 1/3 the way down from the smaller end of the garlic). The goal here is to expose each and every clove. This way, the garlic soaks up the flavor from the ingredients you are about to add.
Step 3: Next, tear a sheet of tin foil into a square (large enough to surround the garlic entirely). Place the garlic into the tin foil, cut-side up, and then drizzle olive oil, salt and pepper onto the whole thing.
Step 4: Wrap up the garlic in the tin-foil, and then place into an oven that is preheated to 350 degrees, or onto a grill that is preheated at a medium heat. Leave it cooking for about 45 minutes.
Step 5: Remove the garlic from the grill or oven, and let rest for about 5 minutes. Then, unwrap your magical-garlic-gift and remove the cloves from their shells (they should come out pretty easily).
Now, smash them up and add them to a soup or sauce. Mix them with other veggies to pack a punch in your side-dish or salads. Pair them with chicken, pork or steak, and the list goes on and on… Garlic is a complement to so many different styles of cooking, and is a crucial ingredient in the kitchen at home or in the greatest restaurants. Hope you enjoy the Tip!
