TGIF, sweet friends! Any big plans for the weekend? My husband is on a golf-a-thon this week and has played nearly every day. So, this gave me a chance to work on a few quick projects. Come check out my rolling plant stand makeover!
A few weeks ago I shared with you my little indoor herb garden. I put it in a pretty ceramic pot that I love, but with the soil and the herbs, the thing is SOOOO heavy! So, I bought this inexpensive plastic rolling plant stand at Lowe’s for about $12.
The terra-cotta color didn’t match the decor in my dining room so I decided to give it a quick makeover.
I painted the under side first and allowed it to dry. Then I flipped it over and gave the top and sides a few light coats of black paint. (I used Rusto=leum black paint in a satin finish becuase that’s what I had on hand.)
And here’s the finished plant stand! The black paint makes the plant stand practically disappear and it matches the already black casters. Now I”m able to roll the herb garden around easily without breaking my back!
These rolling plant stands come in several sizes so make sure you measure your pot before you buy. And I’m pretty sure this was the fastest and easiest project ever, but what a difference! (And now you can hardly tell it’s plastic!)
Well, I hope you have a great weekend friends! I’m doing a bit of cleaning and shopping, then I’m going to plop down on the Veranda and read! Let’s chat next week, shall we? xoxo Dell
