Happy Saturday, friends! My husband and I spent the past week and a half at our lake house. I think when folks hear this, they envision us tooling around the lake on the boat, or lounging on the dock. However, when you are lucky enough to own a 50 year old lake house, there is always work to be done! So come see what we’ve been up to!
Here are a few of our projects…
We (Brad) cut down, painted (Me) and added these cute sailboat shutters in the breezeway next to the garage.
Filled a large metal basket (that I’ve had forever) with a coco liner and a fern. (Looks great with the shutters!)
Cleaned the mailbox and added new numbers…
Painted the inside of the outdoor shower door…
My handy husband, Brad, reconstructed the entire outdoor shower. (Details coming soon.)
We had a sprinkler system installed…
We painted the laundry room’s concrete walls and added roller shades to hide the clutter. (And hot water heater.)
I painted the bottom half of the walls in the laundry room. (Originally we planned to add some beadboard below, but chose to save time and money by just using paint I had on hand.)
Brad built a guard rail on the end of the front porch and I painted it white.
The front door needed a little TLC, too and got a fresh coat of paint. (I’m on a painting roll~watch out y’all!)
The sad looking cushions on the deck got a much needed pick-me-up with extra batting by my upholstery guy.
Brad built and painted a little enclosure for the trash cans. (I added the cute handle.)
Whew! That was just 10 days! We are hosting a 90th birthday party for my Father-in-law soon and we have a few more things on our to-do list before the festivities. But it sure feels good to have gotten so many projects done already! Now we are almost ready for summer. (And those much anticipated boat rides and R&R!)
Happy Memorial Day weekend friends! And let’s never forget why we have this holiday. A special thanks to the men and women who serve our great country and for those who gave all. God bless you. xoxo Dell
