Happy Hump Day! Today I picked up a few chandeliers for my son. They have been at the lighting store for several weeks. I was in no hurry to get them back due to the wedding and the holidays but at long last they are ready! Ever wonder how putting a chandelier on a plug is helpful?
Well, putting a chandelier on a plug gives you unlimited options! For instance, you can put a chandelier on a plug and hang one or more from a tree! Just like we did for my son’s engagement party. What could be more fun than a glittery chandelier (or two) hanging from a massive tree? My only regret is they couldn’t stay up due to pesky weather conditions. Pretty, right? Really, I thought the chandeliers looked amazing hanging from the trees, just as they are!
Right?
I’m just sorry I didn’t get a shot of the chandeliers lit that night. Other than drawing bugs, they were gorgeous!
If you live in an apartment and can’t hardwire a chandelier, this is a perfect option for you. Case in point? My niece, Faith! She just moved into a new apartment and as you know, when you sign a lease, you agree to certain limitations. But why sacrifice style? Enter chandelier on a plug! Faith swagged her vintage crystal chandelier over her comfy reading chair using two ceiling hooks. And when she moves, she takes it with her! Perfect!
When Faith and her roommate hosted a bridal shower for a dear friend, the chandelier added a fun touch to the decorations and festivities!
My Mother did something similar in her living room. This beauty hangs in her dining room, but the one in her living room is very similar. Who doesn’t love some vintage crystals?
So, this all brings me here. I found these cuties years ago and gave them to my son. He hung them in his apartment as decorations but wanted to have them officially electrified. Usually, this is quite expensive. Many electricians charge $20 or more per arm to rewire and/or put a light on a plug. Thanks to a friend of mine, I found a great local store that will put a fixture on a plug for a fraction of the cost! See the fancy gold one and the blue one? These are for my son and his new bride! (The other two you may recognize from the trees at Happy Hill. I’m bringing them home finally.)
So, these darling light fixtures will soon hang from the ceiling of their charming apartment! This gold one has fun little flower shaped glass shades that will look glamorous above my daughter-in-law’s vanity. And who knows where the other one will go? I can’t wait to see where they hang them! Now the lights are on a plug, they can hang them anywhere. This apartment or a future home!
I love it when I can find a unique light fixture for a great price. And I love it even more when I can share it with my family! So, while I am pulling out my Christmas decorations, what are you doing? Rescuing a puppy? Decorating your house? Let me know! Hope you have a great night! xoxo Dell
