Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s been a while since my last post. (Sounds suspiciously like a confession.) Anyway, I went shopping on a whim the other day and found the most amazing bargain! Come check out my Pottery Barn Knock-Off lanterns!
We are hosting our Thanksgiving celebration at our lake house this year so I’ve been incorporating some of my Fall-themed wreaths, pumpkins and related items into my decor. Earlier in the year we finished our covered deck and added an outdoor fireplace. I wanted something pretty to put on the mantle for the holidays and had my heart set on these gorgeous lanterns by Pottery Barn. (Shown below)
The problem is, they retail for $69-$199 each, plus shipping. Yikes! I knew I would never indulge in such a splurge so I decided to look for less expensive and similar alternatives. So, imagine my suprise when I stumbled upon some lanterns almost identical to the Pottery Barn Park Hill Lanterns! I found them at an antique/consignment store in our little town of Mooresville and purchased one in each size. See the PB lantern on the left and compare to my new lanterns on the right? VERY similar!
Both the Pottery Barn Lanterns and the ones I purchased are made of cedar wood, iron and glass. The shapes are slightly different but both have the same classic lantern vibe. And the ones I purchased were much less expensive! The smallest lantern was $25, the medium was $40 and the large lanternn was $60. So for about $130, I bought all three! (Had I purchased them through the PB catalog it would have set me back nearly $370 plus shipping!)
Once I got the lanterns home, I placed the largest lantern on the left side of the hearth and the medium and smallest one on the right. On the large lantern I put an artificial berry wreath and fall ribbon on top. I still need to add some flameless battery operated candles to each of the lanterns so I can easily turn them off and on with a remote control.
Meanwhile, I LOVE how the new lanterns look on our fireplace mantle! I can’t wait to add a few pumpkins and some other fall decorations to complete the look for Thanksgiving! Just imagine the glow of candle light in the lanterns with a crackling fire on Thanksgiving night! Yay, I can hardly wait!
What do you think of my Pottery Barn knock-off lanterns? I think they will be fun to decorate year round too.
Well, we are off to vote! I’m hoping the lines aren’t too long but it’s the perfect day to get it done! I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by. If you have a fun knock-off find please share! Until next time, xoxo Dell
