Happy Wednesday, friends! Today’s post is a quickie, but I wanted to share with you the darling Pottery Barn Kid’s Anywhere chair! It’s so cute and affordable, especially if you have a sweet friend like mine! Come see!
So, you know we have an adorable grandson who is turning one year old tomorrow! We are always on the lookout for fun furnishings and toys for him. So, a very sweet friend recently told me she had two Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chairs that her grandsons had outgrown and she was wanting to get rid of them. I was happy to take them off of her hands! The chairs had been monogrammed with her grandson’s first names. The chairs were super cute, and in great shape, but the names didn’t work for our grandson. Our friend told us that you can order new slipcovers through Pottery Barn, so I checked it out! Here’s how the chairs looked when we got them. Aren’t they cute?
So, we gave one of the chairs to our son for the baby and we kept the other one for our house. I went on Pottery Barn Kid’s website and found a cute, neutral slipcover to replace the original. Unbeknownst to me, the chair is available in three different sizes. Initially I ordered the “my FIRST anywhere chair slipcover”. As soon as I placed the order I realized my mistake. I immediately called Pottery Barn and spoke with one of their representatives. She was SOOO nice and helpful. She cancelled my order and talked me through reordering the correct size and monogram. Apparently our chair was the “medium” size chair. Whew! Crisis averted. And it came just two days later! Although there were many colors and monogram options available, I chose a neutral gray fabric with white piping and a B monogram which will work for any future Barton baby, boy or girl.
Once the slipcover arrived, the directions suggested putting the new slipcover in the dryer with a damp cloth and smoothing out the wrinkles. So, I did. Then, I flipped the chair upside down.
I unzipped the old slipcover and disassembled the chair.
So the chair actually consists of just four foam pieces. A back, bottom and two arm rest.
Once the slipcover came out of the dryer, my husband put the chair back together! Here’s how it looks! It’s still a little wrinkled, but I’m sure the wrinkles will fall out eventually.
So, FYI, the chair itself retails for about $70 and the slipcover is about $50. Because the chair was free, (thanks to our sweet friend, Jan) our cost was just the price of the slipcover. It was $49 plus the cost of monogram and shipping so the final cost was about $77. And the cost of this???? Priceless.
Thanks to our sweet friend, our grandson now has a fun little chair that will stay at our house! The other chair is at his house and his parents are ordering a slipcover that will fit in with their decor. These chairs are so adorable and I highly recommend them. And in case you too are looking for a bargain, I saw three of these chairs today on Facebook Marketplace for $20 each. Again, you just need to order a new slipcover, but what a savings!
I’m always appreciative of the generosity of others and I try to pay it forward when i can as well. A special thanks to our friend who has blessed us in many ways already! Our grandson’s smile today was worth everything! I hope you have a great day! Let’s chat soon and catch up on the blessed birthday of my grandson and husband. Blessings to you! xoxo Dell
