Happy October, friends! Today I want to share with you some simple and delicious parmesan cheese crisps. A sweet friend on Instagram gave me the inspiration and I ran with it, with her blessing! @tgighome
I’m fairly new to Instagram, and honestly, technology isn’t my strong suit. I still have NO idea how to do stories or a number of other things on IG. (It’s probably a miracle I’m able to blog.) But, I’m learning~slowly but surely. One thing I have learned on Instagram is there are some really, really, nice people there! One such person is Tina, of @tgighome. She is the kindest and most supportive person I’ve “met”. Her home is just as lovely as she is, so if you don’t know her, please check out her gorgeous account at @tgighome on Instagram. (And she has two adorable fluffy pups!) Recently Tina shared some amazing parmesan cheese bowls she made and I was dying to try them!
Tina shared in her stories how to make parmesan cheese bowls, which sound amazing, but she added you can also make parmesan crisps. This reminded me of an appetizer my husband and I had a few months ago at a restaurant in Charlotte called, La Belle Helene. They brought out a little dish of baked parmesan cheese medallions sprinkled with garlic. So, I took Tina’s recipe and added garlic powder to made my own version! (Thank you, sweet Tina!!!) So, I preheated the oven to 425 degrees and lined a baking sheet with parchment paper. (according to Tina’s directions) I sprinkled a circle of grated parmesan cheese on the paper~approximately two tablespoons. Then I dusted them lightly with garlic powder.
I baked them at 425 degrees for about 4 minutes until the edges were brown and crispy. They peel off easily from the parchment paper.
I love how delicate the edges of the baked cheese looks. Almost like lace!
We made homemade bolognese last night for dinner and these parmesan crisps were the perfect addition! The hint of garlic and the crispness of the cheese is a refreshing change from garlic bread! It was ALL so delicious! I think next time we will make our own pasta too!
Paired with wine~it’s the perfect meal!
So, next time you are entertaining, why not give these a try? I bet your guests will be super impressed! And be sure to check out Tina’s amazing parmesan cheese bowls in her stories on Instagram. (@tgighome) She made them in advance and served salad in the bowls. Such a great idea! What could be better than an edible bowl made of cheese? Yummy!!!
Thank you for stopping by sweet friends! I appreciate your continued support and kind words! And thank you, Tina, for the inspiration for today’s blog! I’m definitely going to give her parmesan cheese bowls a try soon. Let me know if you try these or made these before and any changes you made. I’m always looking for new ideas! I hope you have a wonderful day! Let’s chat soon? xoxo Dell
