Happy Friday, sweet friends! I have been busy going back and forth to the lake house this week. We are putting a new roof on the front porch so I’ve been the gopher while my husband and his helper are doing all of the heavy lifting. But in between I squeezed in a little painting project that was as quick as 1, 2, 3! Come see my painted rabbit! (Hint: This is the before picture!)
A few weeks ago I found this sweet little rabbit at the consignment store. He was about $20 and I loved his shape and size and thought it was a good deal. And I do love rabbits! So, I brought him home. After living with him on my coffee table for a few days, I decided he would look better white!
So, I grabbed a can of my favorite spray paint and did a quick makeover. I like to use French Cream in a matte finish by Rust-o-leum. It’s not too white and has a nice finish.
I gave the bunny a once over with a light coat of paint. I liked how the brown was peeking through the white paint so I quit painting. I figure if I didn’t like the look down the road I can simply add more paint! By leaving some of the brown peeking through gives him a bit more interest and you can better see the fine details.
And here he is back on the coffee table with a lighter, brighter look! What do you think?
And a little before and after. I admit I have a thing for bunnies and lions. Well, and roosters, too!. LOL. Always keep in mind if you find something you like but the colors just don’t work for you, or your decor, it can always be fixed with a little paint! Don’t you think he looks better white? I do!!
And a little update on Lacey… She got her stitches out today! It’s not quite been 2 weeks since her surgery but she is doing a little better every day! She even snuck in a swim the other day when I wasn’t watching. I was mowing the grass at the lake house and I turned my back for a minute and the next thing I knew she was paddling around in the water. I made her get out but five minutes later she was back in again! So, I dried her off and soaked her incision with a wound wash from the drug store. It doesn’t seem to have gotten infected or anything, thank heaven! She still looks funny with her leg shaved, but hopefully her hair will grow back quickly and we will have our pretty and healthy girl back!
Next week I’ll share with you some of our progress on our porch at the lake house, aka Happy Hill. It’s coming along nicely! My husband has worked SO hard on it, which has been no easy task given the heat and the terrible thunderstorm that ripped through as soon as we opened up the roof. But, once it’s finally done it will be wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Let’s chat soon, shall we? xoxo Dell
