Happy Tuesday, friends! Here’s a quickie DIY project for you, brought to you courtesy of my son, Chase! See how he took a dated coat rack and gave it a quick facelift with paint! #paintedcoatrack
Don’t you love it when you get something for a bargain, or better yet, free? I’m always amazed at what folks give away for free on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist! Recently, someone in my neighborhood that was moving was giving away several free items. When I saw this coat rack, I couldn’t resist snapping it up. I mean, free, right? It has such a pretty shape and is made of solid wood, so i figured I could use it or one of my sons could.
I was the first to comment on the FB post, so I got it! I couldn’t think of a place for it, so I offered it to my son who just bought a new house. The base and hooks were a little wonky, but nothing a few quick turns of a screwdriver couldn’t fix! Once again sturdy, my son cleaned it and hand painted it with a semi-gloss paint in a bronze/gold color. Instant update!
A neat feature of this coat rack that my son discovered is the top spins around providing easy access to all of the hooks! Pretty cool!
The painted coat rack looks pretty and fresh! Now when they entertain, they have a handy spot to hang a purse, coat or umbrella right inside the foyer!
The power of paint never ceases to amaze me! Nice job, Chase!
My son and daughter-in-law have been super busy unpacking and decorating their new house. And, a little bird told me they are having some light fixtures installed very soon! Stay tuned!
I hope you have a wonderful day! Take care and thank you for stopping by! xoxo Dell
