Happy Thursday, friends! I hope the weather is not too bad in your neck of the woods. It’s rainy and cold here, and nothing else to report, so why not pop over and see a pretty painted brick fireplace makeover?
Our son and daughter-in-law have been in their house less than seven months. But that hasn’t stopped them from jumping in with both feet and doing tons of DIY projects in order to make the house their own! Their latest project was painting their brick fireplace. So, this was the before picture from the original house listing on MLS.
The good news is the house had a great gas fireplace. The bad news, it looked a tad bit dated. So, while they had a long weekend, they took advantage and decided to paint the brick white to match the rest of the mantle and trim in the room.
So, after the little guy went to bed, they got out their painter’s tape and supplies and went to work! This is after the first coat of primer….
And after the final coat of paint! It looks so fresh and updated! They plan on painting over the gold accents with a heat-resistant black paint next weekend. Then the refresh will be complete!
Doesn’t the fireplace look great painted white? Paint is always such an easy and inexpensive way to update or change any space. The kids already had the paint on hand so this was a no-cost project and they did it in just a few hours. Great job, guys!
And see those oak kitchen cabinets over there to the left in this picture? Come see how they also updated the kitchen with paint and click here: Painted Kitchen Cabinets!
Our son and DIL are on a roll and have updated every room, even with a new baby in the house! If you’d like to see more of their projects, you can click on any of the links below.

We are so proud of how our son and daughter-in-law took this lovely 20 year old home and made it young and fresh! The improvements not only made the house into their own, but also increased the property value significantly. By doing most of the home improvements themselves, they save money on both ends. And when they go to sell this house, the hard work will be done for the next homeowner and will be move-in ready!
Well, thank you for stopping by, and thank you to my talented son and DIL for allowing me to share bits and pieces of their beautiful home. (And their beautiful baby!) Hope you have a great day! xoxo Dell
