Happy Wednesday, everyone! As I was mulling over what to post about today it occurred to me I may have forgotten to share with you the new mirror over the outdoor fireplace. Come check it out!
We recently added a brand new covered deck at our lake house. The stone fireplace was completed a few weeks ago and here’s how it turned out!
We are still waiting for the wood to cure for the mantle, but for now we put up a thinner version, just so we would have something to put things on. The space above the temporary mantle is screaming for a decoration of sorts. My husband wants to put some kind of animal head up there, such as a large deer or moose. (Such a guy thing!) I”m personally not a fan of taxidermy and glass eyes staring back at me while I’m trying to relax. So, in the interim (and hopefully forever) I found a pretty solution. THIS!
This mirror is from Restoration Hardware as are the corbels, so in my mind they deserve to be together for eternity. I mean, who doesn’t LOVE RH? See what I mean? Soulmates.
And we all know if you CAN have a chandelier in a space, a mirror makes it twice as fabulous! Right?
It took several tries, five to be exact, to get the height of the mirror just right. Chandelier reflection? Check.
And, it’s fun to see the actual chandelier too! Hoarding definitely has its advantages.
In a pinch to decorate the mantle for July 4th, I had to haul in a few decorations I had on hand. And nothing says patriotism like the American Flag. Or lots of them!
Now the mirror is hung and my hubby and I agree it looks perfect here, maybe he will abandon his moose head fantasy! Fingers crossed!
Well, I’m off to start dinner but later this week I hope to share a few fun painting projects my son and I did! Be sure to stop by! I hope you have a wonderful evening. Cheers! xoxo Dell
