Happy Monday, sweet friends! It’s been a while! My site was down for a few days but we just needed to update my hosting site. It’s all fixed so I thought I’d share with you something I did recently when sending out the invitations for my niece’s baby shower. Come see this adorable letter wax seal!
One of my beautiful (and favorite) nieces is having a baby in August! So, my two sisters and I decided to throw her a baby shower in June! The mother-to-be, Faith Elizabeth and her hubby decided NOT to find out the sex of the baby before the birth. Thus, we are throwing a gender neutral baby shower! We’ve never done this before so it’s uncharted territory, but I know it will still be lots of fun and beautiful!
For the invitations, we chose a pretty floral on Zazzle.com. Technically this invitation says it’s for a girl baby shower but because the shower is kind of all about the Mom, we felt like it was appropriate to use a feminine invitation. Pretty, huh?
I addressed the envelopes the other day and decided to add a fun little touch by sealing the envelopes with a cute little vintage baby carriage stamp. In case you’ve never done this before, it’s super easy and there are hundreds of different stamps to choose from. I have some with our last name initial, too. I ended up ordering all of my supplies from Amazon. I bought this hot glue gun, which is clearly from China. I believe it was about $20. I already had a glue gun, but this one has an on/off switch so I thought it would work better.
I ordered these wax sticks on Amazon as well. Just make sure you order the correct size wax to fit your glue gun. These are 100mmx7.5mm and came in a pack of 16 pieces. They come in all sorts of colors but I used gold.
I would recommend taking a few practice stamps before you start on the actual envelopes. It took me a few tries to figure out just how much glue to use and how to position the stamp. I found that applying about the size of a quarter’s worth of wax worked well. Then, make sure your stamp picture is upright and place the stamp in the center of the melted glue and hold and press firmly. Wait a minute until the wax is dry and then carefully pull off the stamp. If you do it too quickly, the wax may peel away from the envelope or some wax will stick to your stamp.
An this is how it turned out! Magnified by a LOT of course, but I wanted to show the detail. As you can see this is not an exact science and no two will look alike. But, it’s a cute way to seal an envelope for a special occasion and gives the invitations a little pizazz!
I really love how the invitations turned out! I think the seal added a little unexpected touch to the invitations and several people have commented on them. Pretty sure this is going to go out on ALL of my letters in the future. Maybe even my bills! LOL.
On a different note, I just wanted to let y’all know that my Instagram account was hacked last week. It happened last Wednesday and even though I’ve reported it to IG, still nothing has happened. They said it could take 3-4 days for them to research it and email me and let me know. At this point I don’t know if my account can be recovered. But just know that anything the hackers are posting about Bitcoin investments and me buying a red Range Rover with my earnings are false and NOT from me. I’ll keep you posted. It feels like such an invasion of privacy and really burst my bubble in regards to the human race. Some people really have no scruples. I read yesterday that 50,000 IG accounts get hacked every year. Roughly 13%. So, I”m assuming its fairly common and apparently profitable for the hackers. Please beware and be careful!
Well, I’ll think about that tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’m going to think of fun ways to decorate our house for a gender neutral baby shower! Thank you for stopping by and for following along! I love you guys! xoxo Dell

Dell, I’m glad I could find you here. I knew you weren’t posting the things about bitcoin on you IG. I reported it, too, but I see they are still posting. So crazy!

Hi, Kim! Thank you so much for reaching out and reporting this to IG! It has been VERY frustrating to say the least. I’m going to try to reach out to them again today, but so far they haven’t been very helpful. I can’t even log on to IG at all. My husband commented on one of the hackers posts and they blocked him. I don’t really know what else I can do. If you have any ideas or hear of anyone having success with getting their account back, please let me know. I’ll keep you posted. Thank you again. I really loved hearing from you today. It was just what I needed! I hope to have good news soon! xo Dell
