TGIF, friends! I had another post in mind today, but when my sister sent me a picture of her new master bedroom I had to share! Come see a large chandelier in the Master Bedroom!
I know some people prefer a ceiling fan in their bedroom. Yes, they are practical and efficient. However, nothing says luxury and elegance like an oversized chandelier! And if it’s a crystal chandelier? Well, you know how I feel about that. Recently my older sister and her husband added a new addition to their home. They built a beautiful and spacious master suite. I know my sister doesn’t like ceiling fans, so I knew her new bedroom would have at least one chandelier. And because we are related, likely more than one. So I was keeping an eye out for the perfect chandelier!
A few months ago my electrician friend, Bob, came to install some light fixtures in our new house. Once he saw my affinity for chandeliers, he mentioned he had replaced some fixtures in his own home. The lights he took down were very nice and high quality, so he hated to throw them out. He asked if I would like to have them, and of course I said YES! He helped me load them in my car.
I knew this one would be perfect for my sister’s new bedroom. It’s super heavy and has beautiful lines and curves.
I sent my sister a picture of the chandelier to make sure she liked it and wanted it and she did! To see detailed instructions on how I transformed this chandelier click here: How to Add Crystals to a Chandelier! This is how the fixture looked with its factory finish:
Once I finished the chandelier make-over, I gave it to my sister as a gift. It patiently hung in their garage until the addition was complete. (Don’t you love the tractor in the background?)
My sister’s electrician initially thought this chandelier was too large for the room. (Men can be so silly sometimes.) Is there such a thing as too large a chandelier? I think it’s absolutely PERFECT. And more importantly, so does my sister! This is right after the chandelier was hung and still needed light bulbs and repairs to a few crystals.
Here is the gorgeous chandelier lit and in all of her sparkly glory! The chandelier is centered in the room with a lovely, ornate ceiling medallion and a reverse tray ceiling. Photo credit: Wendy Pridgen.
Doesn’t this room look amazing? It turned out beautifully! The king size bed is piled high with a beautiful new comforter set, fresh linens and pillows. Talk about sweet dreams! I’m so happy my sister’s master suite is finally complete. If you’ve ever done a remodeling project, you know how they can drag out. And having contractors in and out for months can be exhausting. But, it’s always worth the wait. I’m sure my sister will agree! Gorgeous!!
I believe there are just a few more items to complete in the closets and bathroom and then final inspection can take place. The room turned out beautifully and the crystal chandelier makes quite the statement piece! For the minimal cost of paint, crystals and chain, my sister got exactly what she wished for. Can you imagine what this chandelier would cost at a store? I really am pleased with how it turned out and was so happy to do this for my sweet sister, who is always doing things for others with a servant’s heart.
I love sharing other people’s spaces, especially when they are so elegant and unique! Thank you to my sister for sharing her new room and photos with us! It looks gorgeous! I can’t wait to see their new master bathroom. It’s guaranteed to be a show stopper! (I’ll try to talk her into sharing more pictures with us!)
Thank you for stopping by and supporting my blog! Please share your comments and let me know what you’d like to see more of! Have a great day, my friends! xoxo Dell
