Lacey turned five years old this year and she decided to share a few thoughts with you on what she has learned in her 5 years. So, today Lacey is my guest blogger!
“These are a few important things in life I’ve learned to be true in my 5 years thus far.” By: Lacey Lou
Number 1- I’m cute. I know it. Plus, everyone tells me so. Therefore, I can do anything I want and get by with it. I can sleep on the leather sofa or in Mom’s favorite chair. I can jump in the pool and shake off right next to my parents or drip water all over the kitchen. And I can because I”m cute. See?
Number 2. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher are delicious. Everyone pretends like they mind but they really don’t. I’m just helping out.
Number 3-The UPS man has a pocket full of treats. That’s why I chase him. He gives me several because I’m cute. (Or he is afraid of an 80 lb. dog.) Either way I get treats. Same with the mailman. I like to keep an eye out for them.
Number 4-Certain toys sink in my pool, like my frisbee and orange ball. I sink them on purpose and then bark and my Daddy dives down and gets them for me. Every single time. It’s my version of fetch. He loves me so he gets them for me. Every single time.
Number 5-I’ve trained my Mom and Dad to give me treats on command. I go to the door and bark, pretending like I need to go out. When they open the door I run to the treat jar and they give me a treat. Once in a while I humor them and actually go out. I bark again to come back in and I get another treat.
Number 6-My next door neighbor’s toys are the BEST. I run over when I see she has a new toy and borrow it until my Mom throws it back in their yard. First, I make sure I roll all over it and get my scent on it so she knows I played with it too. (Also I can multi-task and carry her toy, ball and my stick all at once.)
Finally, I’ve learned that life is good. Very good. I take care of my family and they take care of me.
