I love Ikea. I always look forward to getting their catalogs and wandering through their stores. They have almost anything you can possibly want and things you didn’t even know you wanted for a great price! Come see what I found!
Our local Ikea is about 45 minutes from my house, so I don’t go very often. And that is probably a GOOD thing. It is sort of like Target on steroids! On my last trip a few weeks ago I bought a kitchen cart and some curtains. (and a few other assorted goodies.) I put together the kitchen cart immediately for my son (see below) and the curtains have been sitting in the closet ever since.
Yesterday the plumber came back to finish rough plumbing our master bathroom, which took all day. So, while he was doing this:
I decided to hang the new curtains! In our guest room previously I hung a set of white Ikea curtains on each window. Since the curtain rod was a bit too high for them, I swagged them over to each side of the window with tasseled tie backs, like so:
It was a quick fix but I still wasn’t happy with the look. So, I decided to move these curtains into the boy’s rooms and put the new and longer curtains in the guest room. I bought 2 sets of the grommet-top white curtains for around $30 per set. They are made of very thick and heavy cotton fabric. It took a long time to iron each of the panels and hang them. I used the existing rods as they were the right height for the new curtains. They are still a little wrinkled in spots so I’ll get out the steam iron and smooth out the remaining creases.
I was on a roll so I cleaned out the linen closet in the boy’s shared bathroom. At the suggestion of a good friend, I am donating all of the old towels and sheets to our local animal shelter. I bought these new white ones at Kohl’s recently using a 30% off coupon and my bonus bucks. I love using white towels since they go with any decor.
If feels great to get some projects checked off of my list when I was house bound anyway! Now the plumber is finished and we are ready for tile. We are so excited about finishing our master bathroom! My goal is to have all of the bathrooms updated and ready for company before the holidays. Fingers crossed! Thanks for stopping by!
