Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I want to share with you a quick, easy and inexpensive way to make your own gift tags. And if you are working on a budget this holiday season like me, these tags are for you! Come see how to make your own gift tags!
Recently I attended my niece’s baby shower in Wilmington, NC. She is expecting a baby girl, which is super fun for me! As of yet, I don’t have any grandchildren, so every time I get a chance to buy tiny baby clothes and accessories, I jump on it! I purchased several items on her registry. (and a few other precious things I couldn’t resist.) When it came time to wrap them, I had some darling baby shower gift wrap and bags in my stash. I was out of typical gift cards and tags, so I decided to make my own!
A few years ago I bought a small pack of plain brown gift tags from World Market. They are made from brown, kraft-stock paper with a metal grommet in the hole. I used several of these for my niece’s gifts. Since I wanted more of these tags for the holidays and couldn’t find the exact ones, I found something similar on Amazon. These tags measure about 2″ x 3.94″ and have a pre-punched hole. For just $6.59 you can order a package of 120 tags and 100 feet of jute twine. And I just ordered some today, and these should last a LONG time!
As you know, I have a thing for chandeliers and I have a few chandelier stamps, but this one is my favorite! Isn’t it pretty? I like to use black ink for added drama, so I dipped my stamp into the ink and pressed it firmly on the tag. And, wallah! A custom gift tag! I added some pretty pink ribbon that says, “It’s a Girl” and tied the tags to the gift bags and wrapped gifts. And yes, I’ve been know to re-gift gift bags and tissue! (This pretty pink bag and tissue are courtesy of Lynn & Helen from my birthday gift earlier this year~thanks ladies!)
I stamped the chandelier on the front of the gift tag and wrote a personal note on the other side. As soon as my niece saw the signature chandelier, she looked directly at me and said it MUST be from Aunt Dell! She knows me well~love you Audrey!
The sky is the limit when it comes to using these tags in a creative way. You can use stamps, stickers, rub-on letters, stencils or even cut out decorative shapes using hand punches like snow flakes, hearts or butterflies. Wouldn’t kids get a kick out of making their own gift tags for their friends, family and teacher’s gifts? My tags just arrived today via Amazon Prime, so they are heading straight to my gift wrap station! I’ll have plenty in stock for Christmas!
Well, I’m off to plan our family luncheon which is quickly approaching! Have a great evening sweet friends, and thank you as always for stopping by and supporting my little blog! Hugs and kisses! Dell
