Hello, Bonjour, Ciao, friends! Today I want to share with you the cutest and quickest project ever! Yesterday my husband and I bought new iPhones (finally) and once we got home I was inspired to put on my crafty hat and make a fun DIY project. Come see how I took this frame and made a hello sign for our guest room!
So, yesterday I finally upgraded my cell phone from an iPhone 6 to a 10. Huge leap! I’m still trying to figure out there is no “home” button, you just swipe up. It may take a while to get accustomed to the new features. However, I also bought a new cell phone protector by Kate Spade. (I love it, but it makes me sad she is gone.) On the back cover of the package is cute green cardboard lettering that says hello in several languages in shiny gold. It was so pretty, then, a light bulb went off!
So I rummaged through my stash of pretty frames and found this one! It’s from a consignment store and once I saw the pretty details on the frame, I snatched it up for $5. (There is an easel on the back so it can stand alone, or hang on a wall.
I removed the glass from the back of the frame and used the glass as my template. Centering the glass over the words, I traced around the outer edges of the glass with a pen. Using a sharp exacto knife, I trimmed out the center part of the packaging with the words, and discarded the outer parts.
I cleaned the glass on both sides and reinserted the glass and popped in the hello sign. Easy-peasy!
I think it’s adorable! Once I complete the guest room, I’ll put this on the side table or desk as a special welcome. Don’t you love it when something pops in your head and you can make it happen in a few minutes? I LOVE crafts like this!! Leave it to Kate Spade to have not only beautiful iPhone covers, but beautiful packaging as well!
And a quick before and after! A cell phone cover box turned into a charming little guest room sign!
So, if you purchase a Kate Spade iPhone cover, be sure to look on the back of the package. This would also make a fun decoration for a dorm room or teenager’s room! Or, a guest room in my case. Speaking of guest rooms, I need to add a few finishing touches, which I’ll share soon! Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely afternoon and evening! Au revoir! xoxo Dell
