Happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing my older son’s room at the lake. All of the bedrooms at Happy Hill are very small but we still were able to make them fun and functional!
The lake house has four bedrooms, albeit tiny ones! We easily fit a queen size bed in both of the boys’ rooms and a king size in the master bedroom. I found this bed for my older son’s room at an antique store in Pennsylvania for $80. I love it! It had a headboard and footboard but no side rails.
Did you know you can buy side rails for a bed that converts a full size bed into a queen? Well you can! I bought the side rails on Amazon for about $50 if I remember correctly. It is important to us for family and friends to have a comfortable bed to sleep in. We honestly don’t spend much time at all in the bedrooms so it’s okay they are small. We added a small dresser that doubles as a nightstand in each of the rooms. I bought this one on Craigslist. It has a marble top and pretty painted details on the front.
This is one of my favorite fisherman lamps. Isn’t he handsome?
I bought this little night light at a yard sale for $10. When you turn it on it lights up and the fish “swim” around in circles. I don’t know why I like this so much. It’s one of those borderline tacky but cute things. I have a feeling my future grandchildren will love it too. <3 I bought the comforter and bedding at Homegoods. They have the best prices on “hotel” quality sheets and blankets! The window coverings I ordered from Lowe’s. They were a custom order because of the odd size. I like Roman Shades since they provide privacy when needed yet pull up neatly out of the way. As much as I would have loved putting a chandelier in here, the practical side prevailed and we installed ceiling fans in each of the rooms.
There is also a small closet near the foot of the bed. Between the closet and the Bombay chest there is ample storage. So everything our son or our guests need packed neatly into less than a 10 x 10 foot room! It goes to show that a tiny room can be fun and functional! And THIS is why we love Happy Hill! Thanks for stopping by!
