TGIF, Friends! Today is very rainy and dreary where we live. However, we do need the rain and it’s a good excuse to stay inside and get some much needed items off of my to-do list! One priority is to return things to our Butler’s Pantry cabinets. Come see how I’m able to reach these ultra tall cabinets. Hint: a Frontgate Ladder!
If you follow along regularly you know we recently started work on our Butler’s Pantry. The room is right off of the kitchen and has tons of wonderful storage space. The problem: the cabinets along the back wall sat directly on top of the granite. This left very little room to put groceries or anything for that matter. The space was not functional at all. However, it does have a neat warming drawer and loads of potential.
Before we moved in we knew we wanted to change this room to make it fit our lifestyle. We desperately needed the counter space and I have a ton of stuff. And, it is stuff I really don’t want to look at on a daily basis, but still need a place to store in an organized fashion. So, after much ado, we found a talented craftsman to come and raise the cabinets up to the ceiling. All of this took place in one day! We are in love with the amount of counter space we now have.
But of course this posed a new challenge. How to reach the cabinets at the very top? We have a few different step ladders we’ve accumulated over the years. But they were either too heavy, too short or too tall. (The Goldilocks of ladders.) I wanted a pretty ladder too, since it would be visible and used often in this room. My husband found a few options on Amazon but most of them were ugly. Trust me, after all of this work, I deserve a good looking ladder. (And maybe some pull out drawers.)
My sweet husband found this ladder online by Frontgate. If you get their magazine you know what gorgeous products they have. And how pricey they are. Once I saw this ladder I knew it was THE one. The height is perfect with the top step measuring almost 41 inches from the floor. With this size ladder, I can reach the top shelf easily.
The ladder is called the “Ultralight Slimline 4-Step Ladder and normally sells for $149.00. It weighs 11 pounds and folds to 2 inches, making it easy to store. Because I really wanted this particular ladder I went online and searched for Frontgate Coupon Codes. I found one for 20% off and free shipping! Score. They come in 5 different colors and I chose Graphite. And of course when I looked today, they are on sale for $119.00 and I paid pretty much the same amount. Figures. Anyway, if you are in the market for a great ladder at a great price, now’s the time.
Because the ladder has a slim 2″ profile when folded, it slips right beside the refrigerator and the wall. It’s a well designed ladder! But someone thinks I will scratch up the wall and molding getting it in and out, thus we will probably try to find an attractive hanger and store it in an out of the way place. Now we need to finish a few other important things in this room.
See the tile on the walls? I thought it would be near impossible to match. Thanks to a good friend’s suggestion, I checked out The Tile Shop in North Charlotte and found the identical tile! (Thank you, Lynn!) And it’s 10% off! I ordered the tile and once it comes in my butler, Bradford will install the matching backsplash along the back wall. We don’t plan to add the contrasting brown tiles in the new area just to keep things simple and clean.
So, the new tile backsplash will go all along the back walls in the same subway tile pattern as the other. All of this happens after the carpenter finishes making two extra cabinets and the electrician comes and installs electrical outlets and under the counter lighting. And switches out my existing light fixtures for two matching crystal chandeliers. (I know you are shocked and surprised.)
I was really happy our new ladder was delivered this week. It made returning the dishes and cooking items to the cabinets seamless and easy. And I love it was 20% off with free shipping! Don’t you love using coupon codes to save money on things you want? I use them all of the time at the holidays when ordering online. Meanwhile I’m getting excited about the prospect of a finished Butler’s Pantry! Hopefully in time for the holidays!
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a lovely weekend! xoxo Dell
