Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I want to share with you a few quick and easy Fall mantle ideas! Come check out our new mantle (finally) all decked out for Autumn!
If you recall, we redid our living room fireplace after living here for nearly four years. (If you’d like to read all about it and see before pictures, click here: Fireplace Makeover!
At any rate, ever since the new mantle was installed, I have been having the best time styling it. And now that the holidays are here, let the fun really begin! The mantle is 12 ½” deep so it gives me lots of room for large scale decor. (Which is my jam.) Here is how the new mantle and surround look in our living room. I must say I am in love.
So, in order to style it for fall, I added a vintage mirror from my stash. (I think I have been extra good this year so I’m hoping Santa will bring me a RH mirror that will fit this space MUCH better.) Then I added a fall inspired garland I had from years ago. A favorite candelabra and some black taper candles gave me the height I wanted on the left side of the mantle.
Next came a large oversized vase from Shops Up Front several years ago. It’s quite large so it can handle tall arrangements. I simply cut about 6 branches of leaves from our trees and put them in water. (Wouldn’t this look amazing with leaves that are turning colors, too?) I’m loving the drama of the large limbs hanging over each side.
Then I just filled in the center with some velvet pumpkins and added a few fall picks to fill in the bare spots. Easy-peasy and it didn’t cost me a thing!! You could even use real greenery and pumpkins too for a more organic look.
And here is a side view while trying not to show the enormous television.
The leaves stayed fresh and green in water for about 4 days then started turning crispy and brown. So, I just removed those and added some fresh limbs of magnolia leaves and I like that look even better!
Well, I’m off to work on another project while hubby is golfing. Shhhh…..
I’ll be sure and share my project and its progress soon. Check out my stories on Instagram and Facebook later today to see what I”m up to. Hope you have a wonderful day! And until we chat again, may the good Lord take a liking to you. (hijacked from Roy Rogers, via my Daddy.) xoxox Dell
