Happy Thursday, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite money saving tricks to use in the bathroom or powder room. Come check out my dollar store soap idea!
I admit I don’t go to the Dollar Store that often, but when I do, I”m always surprised at what great things I find! For instance, recently I found some great bars of soap for just $1. They come in different scents but all are packaged in pretty boxes and the soaps are a nice, large size and smell wonderful! This soap is oatmeal & lemon verbena.
Beside the sinks in our bathrooms, I like to use a small tray to hold various soaps and lotions, etc. The trays make it convenient to hold the things in a neat way and gives common items a little bit of a fancy feel. I found this little round silver tray for about $5 and I knew it was the perfect size for one of our bathrooms!
Before Pier 1 closed, I bought several containers of their lovely hand soap and matching air fresheners on sale. And although all of their box stores have closed, you can still order their products online! Of course, any cleansers will do.
To my bargain silver tray I added a bar of the dollar store soap, and the hand wash and room spray from Pier 1. A high-end look for less than $15! And when the hand soap is gone, I can simply refill it with a dollar store refill and keep my pretty container!
The silver tray fits perfectly right beside the sink in the powder room. I like to keep disposable hand towels next to the sink as well so our guests don’t reuse the same hand towel over and over. Sometimes I’m able to find these at the dollar store as well.
The boxed soaps are pretty all on their own and it’s nice to keep a few extra bars in the guest bathroom for when company comes. They can open a fresh bar of soap and use it during their stay. And you don’t feel guilty about throwing away the unused soap after they leave since it was just $1! I just love when I find something affordable AND pretty, don’t you?
Well, time to sign off and start thinking about my next project! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Much love, Dell
