Happy Wednesday sweet friends! I’ve been dying to share with you the gorgeous damask peel and stick wallpaper my sweet sister-in-law recently installed in her dining room! You may run out to your car, purse flying to get some once you see it! Come on over!
My brother and sister-in-law live in a beautiful brick home in North Carolina. They built the house from the ground up about 18 years ago. Like many of us, they have made many changes and updates along the way to keep the house current. A few years ago my SIL painted their dining room a pretty shade of blue, a change from the dark red walls that previously graced the walls. Then she added a gorgeous vintage chandelier! (A Craigslist find.)
And here’s a few of the chandelier’s glorious details! I know, I know. This is not a blog post about chandeliers. But still.
ANYWAY! A few months ago while I was out shopping I scored this gorgeous vintage mirror at the antique mall. I knew it would look perfect in my sister-in-law’s dining room. My sister-in-law and I hung it together and it looked fabulous! But, my SIL felt like something was still missing.
So one day while my SIL was at Lowe’s, she spied this beautiful damask peel and stick wallpaper. It perfectly matched the shade of blue in her dining room paint and she thought it would make a great feature wall! This wallpaper is a stock item at Lowe’s and is called NuWallpaper Blue Vinyl Damask Self-Adhering Peel & Stick Wallpaper and sells for $39.98 per roll of 30 square feet. You simply pull off the paper backing and adhere the wallpaper to the wall. Such a pretty pattern too! I do love a good damask.
My sister-in-law installed this wallpaper by herself in one afternoon! This feature wall required two rolls of the wallpaper so for about $80 and a few hours work, here’s how it turned out! Gorgeous, right?
Sometimes all it takes is a change or two to make an existing space feel fresh and new! This wall is one of the first things you see when you step into their foyer and it’s perfect! It makes you want to wander in and peek around the corner.
This wallpaper is not only beautiful but a great way to add visual interest and style to any space! It’s easy to apply and safe for all walls. Plus, its easy to reposition the paper during application and can be easily removed and leaves behind no residue. Win-win! Peel and Stick wallpaper has come a long way and is available in a multitude of colors and patterns. You can even find some that look like shiplap or used brick, if that’s your style. It’s also perfect for dorms or rentals where you are not allowed to paint or permanently alter the walls.
Do you love wallpaper? I really do! In our past homes I’ve been hesitant to add wallpaper mainly because of the expense and permanence. Plus, we always had to keep resale in the back of our minds because we moved around so much. But thanks to this amazing peel & stick wallpaper, it’s affordable and temporary if need be! I did a feature wall in my closet using peel and stick wallpaper a few months ago. In case you missed it and want to take a peek you can go here: Peel and Stick Wallpaper!
Have you tried peel and stick wallpaper? And if so, what did you think? Easy? Difficult? Or do you prefer pre-pasted wallpaper? Do tell! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! xoxo Dell
