Two days and counting! I can’t believe Christmas is almost here! I feel so unprepared this year! I’ve been working on a super secret craft that I can’t share until after Christmas as it would ruin a surprise for my sons. Instead I’ll share some cute little Christmas party poppers I made to go into some gift baskets.
Yesterday, among other things, I made a trip to World Market. That store is SO cool! Not only do they have great snacks and home goods but it is stocking stuffer heaven! They had some really cute Christmas poppers. They were $21.99 for a package of 6. Granted they were on sale, but still, they are SO easy and inexpensive make, why buy them?
I saved some cardboard paper rolls and cut them in half. Some of the store bought ones have confetti inside, but what a mess, right? Instead I filled mine with chocolates! I found these sweet little Santas also at World Market and they were the perfect size! To further fill the tube, I added a few rolo candies and Reece cups.
Then of course it was so easy. I did tape the roll to the gift wrapping paper so it wouldn’t slip and then just rolled it up. I pinched off the ends to make it like a candy roll wrapper and tied it off with decorative ribbon. The first one didn’t turn out quite as cute as the others. As usual, practice makes perfect. I even put a little wind up hopping toy in a few.
Typical me, I got a little impatient this year so I know I could do better job on the poppers. This was the first one I made. I like them better with the prettier ribbon.
See? Aren’t they prettier with the larger ribbon?
And here they are in a gift basket I’m working on:
This would be a great craft for children and would make fun little gifts to give to teachers, classmates or neighbors. Well, I’m off to wrap more presents. Getting a little nervous since some of the presents are here yet. That’s what I get for waiting until the last minute. Same with baking. At least the house is decorated! I’ll calling it a WIN. Have a great day! Thanks for stopping in! xoxo Dell
