Happy Tuesday, Friends! I have been teasing about my niece’s bridal shower for weeks now and it finally happened over the weekend. Have you ever been to a chandelier bridal shower? Would you like to see how it turned out?
First of all, I want to tell you I’ve been experiencing technical difficulties with my blog for the last week and a half. We switched from an unsecure server to a secure site and somehow they lost the last two weeks of my blog posts! Then I had trouble downloading my photos. Needless to say, it has been extremely frustrating. Not to mention all of the lost work! But now we have things squared away and this shouldn’t happen again. Ever. So, on to more important things, like a chandelier bridal shower!
This past Saturday my two sisters and I hosted a bridal shower at my house for our niece, Faith Elizabeth, who is getting married this fall. Her Mother hosted a bridal shower last year for my daughter-in-law and it was spectacular! The bar was set very high so we knew we had to deliver! At first we couldn’t decide on a theme, but after a bit the chandelier theme naturally fell into place. For one thing, our entire family LOVES crystal chandeliers. Faith Elizabeth has started quite a collection for her future home. And you know how I love my chandeliers! I had these double chandeliers installed a few weeks before the shower, which was perfect timing. Ahhh….
When we started planning the shower, we incorporated as many chandeliers and crystals in the decor as possible. I ordered these pretty personalized cocktail napkins from Zazzle.com. and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out! ( Personalized Napkins here )
The party favors had stickers with a picture of a chandelier and also said, “Faith’s Bridal Shower”. ( Similar Party Favors here )
On the island we placed a large silver tray with a photo of the happy couple, flowers, and filled in with vintage glass crystals from my stash. The crystals added the perfect amount of sparkle and further emphasized our chandelier theme.

We decorated the large chandelier in the great room with pom-poms, rosettes and paper lanterns. (more on that later). Pom-pom credit goes to my sister, Stephanie. She came over to help me make the party favors and decorations on Friday. I attempted to make one pom-pom and it was an epic fail. So, I deemed Stephanie maker of all pom-poms. And she did it beautifully! Meanwhile, I worked on ironing the table cloth and decorating the table and island. My husband, Brad, Stephanie and I later pulled out the ladder and tied the decorations to the chandelier. ( Similar Pom Poms here )
It makes quite an impact when you walk in the front door! The combination of shimmery pom-poms and rosettes with the rustic chandelier is so festive. I kind of want to leave them up!
But, I’m thinking this would also be fun for a New Year’s Eve party and maybe add some streamers? It could happen!
We added a few more pom-poms and garland here and there. The dining table was decked out in a white table cloth with candles, flowers and your typical shower accoutrements. We served cupcakes, cheese straws, wedding cookies, nuts, cake and cucumber sandwiches. (The sandwiches were made by Stephanie with fresh cucumbers from her garden. Delicious!)
I have one cake stand trimmed in glass beads and crystals so I borrowed the other two from my sisters. The trio looked pretty on the table holding the cupcakes. These cake stands may show up at the wedding reception, too! I think they are so elegant! The delicate white paper doilies add a nice touch to the cake stands too. I used the 10″ and 12″ doilies. They add a nice touch and are affordable and disposable! ( White Paper Cake Doilies here )

My mannequin head, Anique, made a cameo appearance sporting her vintage wedding hat and veil. Her pearls got misplaced in the move but she still looked lovely. The flowers are from the grocery store and I just cut them and put them in a silver coffee pot given to me by my Mother-in-law. It’s fun to incorporate family heirlooms in a party, don’t you think? (
We had such a great turn out too! There were over 30 guests and they showered Faith with lots of love and wonderful presents. Then, last but not least came the traditional wearing of the hat made of ribbons and bows from all of the shower gifts. My niece, Audrey is our hat maker extraordinaire. Somehow she takes the bows and fabricates a darling hat made from a paper plate and ribbons. Naturally, Faith Elizabeth wore it beautifully!
I’m thinking this fascinator could easily fit in at a royal wedding or the Kentucky Derby? I’m telling you, if Faith makes this hat look this good, can you imagine how she will look on her wedding day?
The shower was so much fun to plan and orchestrate. It was especially fun because I got to spend some quality time with my sisters! After the shower the men folk joined us and the immediate family stayed behind and we popped open some wine, relaxed and visited some more. Nothing makes me happier than being with my family and laughing! Another successful bridal shower under our belts! Maybe next will be a shower of a different sort? We hope!
Thank you, my friends for stopping by today and thank you for your patience while I fixed my site! Later this week I’ll share more details about the shower and sources regarding where to find the same or similar decor. I hope you have a lovely day! Hugs, Dell
