Hi, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! With the holidays quickly approaching I have been thinking about our menus for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And what better way to end a fabulous meal than with a melt in your mouth dessert? Come check out this little gem of a shop in Mooresville, NC. It’s called the Carolina Pie Company!
My new hair salon is in a little strip mall in Mooresville, NC. Every time I’m there, the smell of freshly baked pies fills the shop. And no wonder, because right around the corner is a small little bakery called The Carolina Pie Co. They bake fresh pies everyday!
A few weeks ago, my husband and I were invited to dinner party at a friend’s house in Mooresville. We offered to bring dessert. I remembered this small little bakery and popped in to check it out. Let me tell you, the smell of this shop is incredible! The shop is located at 136 Stutts Road in Mooresville, NC. (right off of Brawley School Road)
The Carolina Pie Company bakes over 40 different types of pies. Most of their 9 inch pies cost between 20-25 dollars and each features a handmade crust, fresh ingredients and no preservatives or processed fillers. Some pies are even offered in a low sugar and gluten free option for a few additional dollars. Many of the pies are offered in a mini-version which are about 4 inches in diameter and just as tasty as their larger counterparts. These are available for about 4 or 5 dollars each. Some of the pies can even be frozen! This is the small Frozen Peanut Butter Pie.
So far we’ve only sampled 4 of their pies and they are all so delicious, it’s hard to pick a favorite! We especially love the Nutty Monkey and the Frozen Peanut Butter Pie. The Nutella pie and the key lime pies are also amazing! The pies are rich and filling so we like to buy a few of the small pies and cut them into quarters to share. That way everyone gets a little taste and a variety!
Currently the Carolina Pie Company is no longer taking orders for Thanksgiving, but if you act quickly, you can get in your order for Christmas! They bake pies daily so you can still stop in and pick one up in the meantime. I stopped in on Friday and bought a Nutella Pie and a few of the small Frozen Peanut Butter Pies. So delicious. (And dangerous to have around the house!)
So, if you are in the mood to treat yourself and your family to freshly baked goodness, please check out the Carolina Pie Company and support our local businesses! It’s worth the drive, trust me! NOTE: The bakery is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Please call (704)660-5200 for store hours and information, or visit their website at www.carolinapie.com.
Until next time, stay well and safe! xoxo Dell
