TGIF! Who’s looking forward to the weekend? I certainly am! But before I kick back and relax, I thought I’d share the sweet little bridal shower party favors I made! They really turned out great and I think everyone loved them!
When my sisters started planning the bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law, we decided on a Paris theme since my FDIL is a lover of all things French, and her company is headquartered in Paris. My sisters handled all of the decorations and refreshments and I volunteered to bring the party favors. I’m so in love with the way my sister in law decorated her chandeliers for the shower:
At first I bought some little white party favor boxes from Staples. They come in a pack of 100 and you assemble them yourself. To dress them up a bit I ordered some round pink and white stickers with an Eiffel Tower on them from Zazzle. But once I put together one of the boxes, I didn’t like how it looked at all. Plan B. I went to Michael’s and found these pretty glass jars with a snap top lid. They came in a pack of 18 so I bought two boxes. I believe they were $15 per box.
The jars came with little round stickers you can put on the top of each jar that says, “Thank You”. But, I decided to use the custom Eiffel Tower stickers on top instead. When I ordered them I included the words, “Merci Cherie” on top to go along with our French theme. They fit perfectly! And what a perfect way to thank the guests for coming to the party!
My sister Wendy ordered these adorable little candy wrappers on Ebay and from Oriental Trading Company. She had them printed with “Brie’s Bridal Shower” and the date. There were several other designs, and this is just one. I bought the miniature candy bars and applied the stickers.
Next I put some tiny Eiffel Tower stickers on the bottoms of the Hershey Kisses. I ordered these stickers on Amazon. Two sheets were $9.99 and there were 216 stickers.
So, even though the jars were pretty small, each jar held two miniature candy bars, two Hershey Kisses and one gold Lindor Chocolate candy.
I ordered a bunch of gold Eiffel Tower key chains from DHGATE.com. I want to say they were about 58 cents each. (They came from China.) I bought a bag of 50 so I would have extras just in case. They are not the highest quality, but they are cute.
I tied a keychain to the top of each jar using gold curling ribbon. In hindsight I would use a ribbon that is the same color on both sides. This ribbon was shiny on one side and flat on the other. (The perfectionist in me was troubled by this.) I put all of the favors on a large silver platter.
We placed the tray of party favors on the kitchen island along with the party games, a picture of the lovely couple and a large blinking Eiffel Tower.
And Anique, the Parisian head model sporting a vintage bridal hat, veil and pearls…
I’m glad I chose the glass jars over the paper boxes for the bridal shower party favors. Not only are they much prettier, but more substantial and can be repurposed for something else in the future. I think these jars would also make great baby shower, or wedding party favors too. Just fill them with something party appropriate.
Michael’s is always offering great coupons so you can probably get these on sale, especially if you are buying in bulk. And if you aren’t in a hurry, you can take advantage of their 40% off sales and get a few here and there until you get the amount you need. I figure these jars were about 84 cents each.
I had so much fun planning the party favors and putting them together! I just sat down one evening with a glass (or two) of wine and put all of the stickers on the candy then assembled the jars. Wine and chocolate? Mais bien sur!
I am thinking in advance of what I can make as favors for the rehearsal dinner. We will have around 65-75 guests so it will make it a bit more challenging to come up with something fun and unique for that number of favors. But, I have my thinking cap on!
I captured this precious moment of one of the bridesmaids and one of the flower girls bonding at the shower holding their party favors.
This bridal shower was so much fun to plan and execute. I hope everyone involved feels the same way! Thank you for stopping by and supporting my little blog. It means so much to me! xoxo Dell
